Governor Visited Communities in Kubu, District of Kumai
KUBU – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran and a number of Regional Goverment Organization heads of Central Kalimantan Province in a series of working visits to Kotawaringin Barat, Sunday afternoon (02/16/2020), interacting with residents of Kubu who were holding a “PESISIR BEGAYAP” by presenting various culinary / non-culinary, coloring competition for kindergarten level, and Mobile Samsat services.
After interacting and absorbing the aspirations of community, Sugianto Sabran and his entourage headed for Kubu fishing location, Tanjung Keluang Beach, Kumai District, which was managed by one of the local community members Kaspinor.
At the mangrove tourism site, Sugianto Sabran inaugurated “Bukit Pemancingan Kubu” managed by Kaspinor.
The mangrove tourism site and fishing location are forest preservation areas including mangrove forests to prevent erosion and coastal abrasion while also functioning as a natural filter.
Mangroves also serve to prevent sea water intrusion, as a place to live and a source of food for several species of animals and play a role in the formation of island and stabilize coastal areas.
In today’s activity, Governor Sugianto Sabran along with National Figure H. Abdul Rasid were accompanied by the Regent and Vice Regent of Kotawaringin Barat and a member of Provincial House of Representatives of Central Kalimantan Maryani Sabran planted some mangrove trees to set an example for the community to love and take care of the nature. That way, nature will also take care of humans. “Because we live, we must synergize and care about the nature around us,” said Sugianto.
