Heavy Rain Pouring Down, Governor Officially Opens Jamboree for Kalteng BERKAH Teachers
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran opened a Jamboree for Kalteng BERKAH Teachers at Central Kalimantan Provincial Level in Tuah Pahoe Kambariat Campsite, Palangka Raya, Thursday (5/3/2020). This activity will continue until next Saturday (07/03/2020).
In his remarks, the Governor expressed his support for the “Independent Learning”; a policy launched by the current Government which, among others, replaced the National Standard School Examination and National Examination with School Examinations and Minimum Competency Assessment, teachers are challenged to develop their own Learning Implementation Plans, as well as more flexible Admissions for New Students. “These four policies aim to foster a 21st Century Learning Culture to realize more advanced Indonesian human resources. We should support and succeed this program,” he stressed.
Furthermore, the Governor also asked teachers in Central Kalimantan to help support and succeed the policy. “Let’s support and succeed the Government’s policy launched by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture,” said Governor Sugianto Sabran.
Despite the heavy rain and strong winds, the participants were still enthusiastic in following the activities which were then continued in the pavilion while waiting for the rain to stop. When met after opening the jamboree, Governor explained that the purpose of this Jamboree for teachers was as a venue for hospitality and at the same time to socialize Scouts in Central Kalimantan. “The groups in Central Kalimantan will take a reliable course in order to socialize Scouts in Central Kalimantan with the aim of shaping the character of young people, such as honesty, devotion, love for nature and the environment as the mental revolution launched by President Jokowi,” he explained.
According to the Governor, Thursday night (5/3/2020) he was scheduled to meet face to face with all Jamboree participants to absorb aspirations regarding problems in schools, including the number of poor people in Central Kalimantan who could not continue their school. “We want to send poor people to school free of charge, it is also as the addition to improving infrastructure and educational infrastructure. We will continue to strengthen the competence of teachers and contract temporary teachers, “added the Governor.
In line with Governor Sugianto Sabran, the Chair person of the Scouts Provincial Council of Central Kalimantan, Mrs. Ivo Sugianto Sabran also revealed that this activity, in addition to friendship, was also an opportunity to socialize the Scouts. Many activities, according to her, can also be used as oppotunity for actualization and entertainment for teachers who have been busy doing daily teaching and learning process.
Meanwhile before, the Acting Head of Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office, Mofit Saptono, in his report said that this Jamboree, which is attended by around 2505 participants, would be filled with various activities, such as strengthening the capacity for school principals and teachers, strengthening the character for teachers in facing the era of independent learning, and social service or tree planting in the environment of Central Kalimantan Provincial Government and in Tuah Pahoe Kambariat Campsite.
