Central Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Accompanies Visit of Secretary General of Ministry of Agriculture to Food Estate Area in Kapuas Regency
DADAHUP – ADMINISTRATION LEADERSHIP BUREAU. Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan Fahrizal Fitri accompanied the working visit of Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Momon Rusmono to the Food Estate Area in Bentuk Jaya A5 Village, Dadahup District, Kapuas Regency on Friday (12/2/2021).
Also accompanying the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture on his working visit to Kapuas Regency were the Office Head of Food Crops, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry of Central Kalimantan Province, Sunarti, Military District Command 1011 / Kuala Kapuas Lt. Col. Inf. Ary Bayu Saputro, as well as Acting Head of Kapuas Agriculture Office Aswan.
During this visit, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Momon Rusmono directly surveyed the Food Estate development area and secondary irrigation canals in Bentuk Jaya A5 village. After the field survey, Momon Rusmono revealed the purpose of his visit was to see progress and at the same time to coordinate the acceleration of planting in the Food Estate area in Kapuas Regency.
“So, I came to Central Kalimantan with two main objectives. The first is to look at the development of Food Estate in Dadahup, especially those covering a thousand hectares. Second, to accelerate the planting in Kapuas Regency with a target of 20 thousand hectares,” said Secretary General Momon Rusmono in an interview session after the field survey.
Secretary General Momon Rusmono then explained that the planting in Food Estate area in Dadahup District was still hampered by rain. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that steps will be prepared to overcome it, so that planting can be carried out immediately. “Regarding the Food Estate in Dadahup, there is a problem due to rainy season, so planting on this high water level cannot be done, so we need efforts to reduce water in the area,” he explained.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture said that there are several strategies that can be taken to overcome the problem of high water in the area; by increasing the number of pumps with high capacity and opening or closing several irrigation channels. “So that the water recedes immediately and hopefully in a very short time, we can do planting,” hoped Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Then, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Momon Rusmono also stated that the planting in Food Estate in Kapuas Regency is targeted to be completed no later than the end of April. “In relation to the accelerated planting in Kapuas Regency, with a target of 20 thousand (hectares), this is our record that only 9 to 10 thousand (hectares). There are still 10 thousand more, we are targeting it to be finished by the end of April, it must be finished,” said Secretary General Momon Rusmono.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture also emphasized that the results of today’s field survey will be further discussed and coordinated with all relevant agencies, so that the acceleration of planting in Food Estate area, Kapuas Regency can be realized immediately. “As a follow up to this visit, tomorrow we will have a 2-stage coordination meeting. The first stage, morning, specifically discusses Dadahup, the problem of water. In the second stage, the coordination regarding accelerated planting for the target of 20 thousand can be achieved,” he concluded. (set/eka/central communication/translated by feb)
