Public Service Standards May Suppress Maladministration
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Provincial Secretary Fahrizal Fitri, representing the Governor of Central Kalimantan attended and opened the 2021 Compliance Assessment Assistance Workshop on Public Service Standards in accordance with the Mandate of Law Number 25 of 2009 on Public Services organized by the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative Office in Central Kalimantan, took place at the Ballroom Hotel Aquarius, Palangka Raya, Thursday (06/05/2021).
The mentoring activity attended by representatives of regional government of Regency / Municipality in Central Kalimantan is an opportunity provided by the Ombudsman for local governments to obtain further information and understand or inquire about technical matters regarding the implementation of the Compliance Assessment which will be carried out in 2021.
“Public Service Providers are obliged to meet Public Service Standards as stipulated in Law Number 25 of 2009. Service Standards are important because they are ideal conditions in which to suppress maladministration,” said the Governor of Central Kalimantan in a speech delivered by the Provincial Secretary.
“Fulfillment of service standards by Service Providers will later guarantee the rights that should be accepted by the community. In its implementation, there are still many service providers; Ministries, Institutions, and Regional Governments who have not fully complied with what is mandated in the Law, “ said the Governor of Central Kalimantan.
In addition, it was also conveyed that the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government had received the GREEN predicate or High Compliance Predicate in the Compliance Assessment held by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia in 2016. This year, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government will be assessed again.
“I hope it can become a motivation for all Regency / Municipality Governments and make the Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan continue to be motivated to maintain the GREEN predicate, not just to get a good assessment, but also to improve the quality of service to the community,” he said.
“I also advise all public service providers in the Province of Central Kalimantan to continue to enthusiastically improve the quality of their services to the community, thereby minimizing the possibility of maladministration,” concluded the Governor of Central Kalimantan.
