Vice Governor Edy Pratowo Gave General Lecture at IAHN Tampung Penyang
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan Edy Pratowo became a speaker at General Lecture at State Hindu Institute (IAHN) Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya, Friday (10/09/2021).
At the General Lecture, Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan said that education is a way to improve the quality and capacity of Human Resources (HR). Improving the quality of human resources through the development of superior human resources is a shared task in creating a strong nation and a prosperous country. Superior, tough, and qualified human resources, both physically and mentally will give positive impact not only on increasing the nation’s competitiveness and independence, but also in supporting national development, especially the development of Central Kalimantan.
Vice Governor Edy Pratowo also conveyed several challenges of education in Indonesia, namely the crisis of national character and skills in the XXI century, the 4.0 industrial revolution and disruptive technology/innovation, as well as the demographic bonus (58 million workers in 2030). Meanwhile, future projection shows that competition will be more objective and competitive, 65% of elementary school students will get jobs that don’t exist now, and 14.2 million skilled workers will migrate among Asean countries.
In addition, Vice Governor also said that the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government’s seriousness in term of education was stated in the Mission of Governor and Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan to become BERKAH: accelerating the development of intelligent, healthy, and competitive human resources, in which Central Kalimantan is believed to be one of the locations of development and construction for Food Estate which is a PSN to support national food security.
With the increase in the quality and capacity of human resources, it is hoped that the people of Central Kalimantan will contribute to the success and even be able to absorb labors from the indigenous people of Central Kalimantan which will of course lead to improve the quality Central Kalimantan’s economy.
The Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan also said that the young generation of Central Kalimantan is the hope for the future, bringing change for the better, and as a determinant of the sustainability for the Land of Bumi Tambun, Blessed Land of Central Kalimantan.
