Vice Governor Edy Pratowo Attends Meeting of Management and Members of Central Kalimantan Religious Harmony Forum for 2021-2026 Period
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Edy Pratowo attended the Meeting of Management and Members of Central Kalimantan Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) for the 2021-2026 period virtually via video teleconference from the Vice Governor’s Meeting Room, Governor’s Office, Palangka Raya, on Friday (8/10/2021).
When delivering his directions, Vice Governor Edy Pratowo revealed that the Religious Harmony Forum is a forum formed by the community and facilitated by the Government, in order to build and maintain and empower religious communities for harmony and prosperity for all adherents of religions in Indonesia, especially in Bumi Tambun Bungai, Central Kalimantan.
“Harmony among religious believers is the most important key in the formation of FKUB itself, which is based on tolerance, mutual understanding, mutual respect, respect for equality in the practice of their religious teachings, and cooperation in the life of society, nation and state within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution,” said the Vice Governor.
The Vice Governor said that the Religious Harmony Forum has a very strategic role, including as a reference on harmony and being neutral in handling community problems, mediator in disputes, and as a spokesperson for the interests of all religions, as well as authority and wisdom in action.
“The role of FKUB and religious leaders is very much needed as a strategic bridge for people to move religious moderation, both in religious beliefs and understanding as well as concrete actions in carrying out prevention, mediation, and conflict resolution among religious communities,” he said.
In addition, Vice Governor Edy Pratowo hopes that FKUB can continue to be a forum that is trusted by the community, so that it can maintain religious harmony in Central Kalimantan Province.
“I hope that the new FKUB management is able to commit to strengthening the quality and existence of FKUB, especially in maintaining religious harmony and tolerance, so that they can increasingly play a role as one of the development forces to make Central Kalimantan become more BERKAH,” said Vice Governor.
Also attending the meeting were the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion Noor Fahmi and the Chairperson of Religious Harmony Forum for the 2021-2026 Period Bulkani. (rik/bow/translated by feb)
