Central Kalimantan Governor: Immediately Handle Flood Victims, Pregmant Women, Children, and Those Who are Sick
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran directly observed the flood location and visited flood-affected residents in refugee camps located on Mendawai Street, Palangka Subdistrict, Jekan Raya District, Palangka Raya, Friday (11/19/2021).
During the visit, the Governor provided assistance and encouragement to residents affected by the flood. Based on data from the Disaster Management and Fire Fighting Agency (BPBPK) of Central Kalimantan Province as of November 18, 2021, there were 61 people affected by the flood at Jalan Mendawai Induk Command Post, 28 people on Jalan Mendawai Kompleks Sosial Masjid Silahul Mu’min, 148 people on Jalan Mendawai Komplek Sosial RT 5, 106 people on Jalan Pelatuk 2, 94 people on Jalan Pelatuk 4, and 1,090 people at Pasar Kahayan. The total number of refugees scattered throughout the city of Palangka Raya to date is 3,408 people. “There are about three thousand refugees scattered in Palangka Raya City,” said Governor Sugianto.
Governor Sugianto Sabran said that there are still many people in Central Kalimantan who need support from the Regional Government. “We walked around yesterday at one o’clock at night, we directly observed the condition of the refugees; pregnant women, children, those who were sick, a lot of people were sick, we have to deal with it immediately,” he said.
The governor commanded the hospital to immediately provide treatment for people who are sick. “I instruct the health authorities which are the hospitals, so that people who are sick can be immediately treated, taken to hospitals, and if they are really needed to be referred outside of Central Kalimantan Province, for example to Jakarta, please immediately refer them while the expenses will be borne by the government,” concluded Governor Sugianto.
Also present at the flood location visit were the Chair of TP-PKK of Central Kalimantan Province Ivo Sugianto Sabran, Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Edy Pratowo, Acting Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan H. Nuryakin, and other related parties. (din/man/bow/translated by feb)
