Central Kalimantan Governor: This Competition Excites Community to Love Football
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran, represented by Assistant of Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan Province for Economics and Development Leonard S. Ampung, opened the Soeratin Cup Competition for U-17, U-15, and U-13 Categories 2021/2022. The event took place at Tuah Pahoe Stadium, Wednesday (12/1/2022).
In the Governor of Central Kalimantan’s remarks, Sugianto Sabran, which was read by the Assistant, he said, “On behalf of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, I give my highest appreciation to the Central Kalimantan Provincial Association of Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the Central Kalimantan Soeratin Cup Competition Organizing Committee, as well as various parties as soccer sports activists who have consistently worked hard together with all their efforts and high fighting spirit, so that the Soeratin Cup soccer competition in 2022 can be carried out well.”
Governor Sugianto Sabran hopes that, through this competition, it can further excite the people of Central Kalimantan, especially the younger generation, to love football, so that in the future there will be football athletes from Central Kalimantan Province who have potential and quality in expertise and technique that can make the province proud. “Therefore, I request that the Soeratin Cup, which is full of value and meaning, can produce outstanding young athletes, as well as provide a platform for the younger generation to channel their interests and talents, to be scheduled and implemented on an ongoing basis, as well as to be used for choose talented players who are then nurtured and developed, so that they can achieve maximum performance,” explained the Governor.
“Football is a sport of achievement that puts a very high level of discipline, responsibility, and loyalty on the team in pursuit of a victory that is achieved through struggle, togetherness that cannot be separated from one another. Through this activity, it is also hoped that it can invite and awaken the younger generation to understand how important sport is for the lives and futures of healthy and successful youth, so that the negative values of the younger generation as a minority group of millennial elites are drifting with technology that makes them active in the world of fantasy, with online games and even drugs, can be denied by taking an active role in sports activities,” said the Governor in his remarks.
At the end of his remarks, the Governor advised, “Have a good match and make the competition a forum for friendship among fellow athletes and as the beginning of your success in order to achieve even higher success and I expect the players to continue to uphold sportsmanship in competing and maintaining health, by implementing health protocols in accordance with applicable regulations. Be developed, the younger generation of Isen Mulang for the sake of Central Kalimantan.”
Also being present to accompany the Assistant of Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan Province were the Chairman of the Provincial Association PSSI, the Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Central Kalimantan Province, and the Head of Central Kalimantan Province Youth and Sports Office.
