Governor Sugianto Sabran Chaired a Limited Meeting on COVID-19 Pandemic Handling in Central Kalimantan Province
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor H. Sugianto Sabran directly chaired a Limited Meeting between the Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan and Regency/Municipality Governments throughout Central Kalimantan, held at Jayang Tingang Hall, Governor’s Office, Palangka Raya on Tuesday (4/12/2022).
Also being present accompanying the Governor of Central Kalimantan in the limited meeting were the Deputy Governor H. Edy Pratowo, Chairman of the Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives Wiyatno, Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto, Deputy Head of the High Prosecutor’s Office Siswanto, and Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin.
Also attending the meeting directly at Jayang Tingang Hall was the Mayor of Palangka Raya, Fairid Naparin, together with the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Palangka Raya Municipality, Sigit K. Yunianto. Meanwhile, the Regents throughout Central Kalimantan Province accompanied by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and other relevant Regional Government Institutions respectively, were attending the meeting virtually via video conference.
The limited meeting which was held in a hybrid manner (limited face-to-face and virtual via video conference) today was to discuss the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Central Kalimantan Province.
On that occasion, Governor Sugianto Sabran emphasized that although the pandemic in Central Kalimantan was under control, the public was asked to maintain vigilance, especially with the new variant of Omicron. “The Omicron variant has now arrived in Surabaya, hopefully it won’t come into Central Kalimantan,” said Governor Sugianto Sabran when giving directions.
Therefore, in the context of preventing and dealing with COVID-19 in Central Kalimantan in 2022, especially being aware of the Omicron variant, Governor Sugianto Sabran asked all levels of the Provincial and Regency/Municipality Governments in Central Kalimantan to carry out a number of steps to continue to maximize the handling of the pandemic.
These steps include intensifying the Micro Public Activity Restriction (PPKM), intensifying tests and tracing of close COVID-19 contacts, intensifying stricter health protocols discipline, strengthening coordination and synergy with Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and other stakeholders, optimizing the use of PeduliLindungi application, and of course accelerating vaccination, especially for children.
Furthermore, the Governor hopes that all levels of the Provincial and Regency/Municipality Governments together with Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and all stakeholders can synergize and work together to support efforts to handle the pandemic in Central Kalimantan so that it can continue to run well. “My hope is that we will move together to prevent (the COVID-19 pandemic) and how to stop the death cases (of COVID-19),” concluded Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran.
This meeting was also attended by a number of relevant Heads of Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Institutions, including the Head of Health Office Suyuti Syamsul, Head of Disaster Management and Fire Fighting Office Falery Tuwan, Director of General Hospital dr. Doris Sylvanus Yayu Indriaty, Head of Public Order Agency Baru I Sangkai, Acting Head of Kesbangpol Agency Andi Arsyad, and Acting Head of Communications, Information, Coding and Statistics Agus Siswadi.
