Covid-19 Vaccination Increases and Boosts Immunity Effectiveness Against Virus
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Public Communications Team of Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a press release regarding the development of Covid-19 pandemic handling in Central Kalimantan, Wednesday (23/2/2022).
In its release, according to the Central Covid-19 Task Force Team, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team informed about many myths and misinformation spread regarding vaccines, one of which was that “the Covid-19 vaccine reduces the effectiveness of the immune system”. However, the fact is that the Covid-19 vaccine can actually increase the effectiveness of immune system. The vaccine encourages the immune system to respond to the virus when there is direct contact with the virus. “Therefore, vaccines actually help our bodies. So, immediately get vaccinated.” the Task Force Team urged.
In addition, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team also conveyed the data as of today, Wednesday (23/2/2022): there were 438 confirmed positive Covid-19 patients in Central Kalimantan, bringing the total to 51781 people. There were 191 patients recovered, bringing the total to 46376 people. And, there was 1 patient died, bringing the total to 1601 people.
According to the previous data, the confirmed cases increased by 438 people: Palangka Raya (207 people), Katingan (34 people), East Kotawaringin (46 people), West Kotawaringin (21 people), Lamandau (4 people), Sukamara (1 person), Seruyan (16 people), Pulang Pisau (8 people), Kapuas (44 people), Gunung Mas (16 people), South Barito (17 people), East Barito (4 people), North Barito (15 people), and Murung Raya (5 people), so from 51343 people to 51781 people.
Meanwhile, for the number of recovery cases, there were 191 people: Palangka Raya (98 people), Katingan (2 people), East Kotawaringin (33 people), West Kotawaringin (9 people), Sukamara (2 people), Seruyan (5 people), Pulang Pisau (6 people), Kapuas (33 people), and East Barito (3 people), so from 46185 people to 46376 people.
There were 246 patients under treatment, so from 3558 people to 3804 people. And, there was 1 death case in Kapuas, so from 1600 people to 1601 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.1%.
For the achievement of the vaccination target of 2,036,104 realizations, Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 91.95%. All regencies/municipality have achieved above 70% of Dose I Vaccination.
According to Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 11 of 2022 dated February 14, 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and Sub-District Level to Control the Transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the region of Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/municipality in Central Kalimantan Province, three criteria are applied, namely Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 (valid until February 28, 2022).
With the enactment of the restrictions on community activities, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team again reminded all the people of Central Kalimantan to continue to comply with health protocols to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. “For residents who are not aware of the health protocols, remember! 5M is mandatory (wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleansing hands with sanitizer, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds) Do 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment) and immediately get vaccinated so that more people are protected from Covid-19,” said the Task Force Team.
