Assistant for General Administration Opens Technical Coordination Meeting on Forestry of Central Kalimantan Province 2022
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Assistant for General Administration Sri Suwanto, representing the Governor of Central Kalimantan opened the Technical Coordination Meeting on Forestry of Central Kalimantan Province 2022 which was held at Aquarius Boutique Hotel Palangka Raya, Wednesday (18/5/2022).
This Coordination Meeting is an annual agenda held in order to plan future forestry development so that there is harmonization and synchronization between the central government and regional government. This coordination meeting is also one of the media to conduct joint evaluations of the achievements of forestry development and to discuss the challenges and problems faced so as to obtain solutions for the implementation of forestry development.
The meeting with the theme “Expansion for Community-Managed Forest Areas Towards Central Kalimantan More BERKAH” is in line with the policies of the Central Government and the policies of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan of Central Kalimantan Province 2021-2026, the Vision of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan has been set, namely Central Kalimantan More BERKAH (Dignified, Beautiful, Religious, Strong, Trustworthy, and Harmonious) which is described in 5 Missions. One of the strategic targets of Central Kalimantan Province is the Expansion for Community-Managed Forest Areas, by setting a target area for preparing social forestry of 40,000 hectares per year, so that by the end of 2026 the cumulative minimum can reach 505,000 hectares. In addition, Social Forestry does not only reach broad achievements, but also post-permits where the achievement targets for Social Forestry development are set through mentoring and facilitation, so that Social Forestry Business Unit (KUPS) reaches the silver/gold and even platinum category.
Assistant for General Administration Sri Suwanto while reading a written speech of Central Kalimantan Governor conveyed several things to be concerned, namely anticipating the threat of forest and land fires in 2022 and economic recovery in the midst of a pandemic by increasing community-based activities in the forestry sector, such as preparation and implementation activities of social forestry development and forest and land rehabilitation in the form of community forest development outside forest areas and mangrove rehabilitation, covering both the area and the number of target community groups.
On that occasion, the Assistant for General Administration also said that in order to optimize existing resources, in accordance with Minister of Finance Regulation Number 216 of 2021, there is an expansion of the use of the Reforestation Fund Profit Sharing Fund (DBR DR) which is used in addition to rehabilitate forests and land, it can also be used to finance other supporting activities.
