Central Kalimantan Governor Attends Muri Record Event of Mangenta 2022
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran attended the Record Event of the Indonesia World Record Museum (MURI) for Mangenta Tradition Procession. This activity was held in Palangka Raya Roundabout, Sunday (22/5/2022) morning.
This activity was part of a series of commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of Central Kalimantan Province where the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government received an award from MURI for the Mangenta Tradition Procession attended by the highest number of participants in 2022, which was 1,043 participants.
In his remarks, the Governor of Central Kalimantan said that this event was a form of preserving the culinary cultural heritage of Central Kalimantan where Mangenta is a process of making materials from rice into Kenta and this is a typical culinary heritage of Central Kalimantan as local wisdom.
In addition, Governor Sugianto Sabran also said the Mangenta tradition procession which was attended by the highest number of participants in 2022 was an event that provided motivation in preserving the culinary cultural heritage of Central Kalimantan.
“It is hoped that this will always reflect the behavior of the community in raising the spirit of mutual cooperation and social responsibility, discipline, and the spirit of struggle in the life of the community, nation and state,” he said.
The Governor of Central Kalimantan explained that for almost 2 years, big tourism events like this had been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, considering the active cases of Covid-19 in Central Kalimantan which were getting under control, government held this event again.
“In order to synergize the efforts that will be carried out, it is necessary to have a common purpose, movement, and steps in the development of traditional and cultural traditions so that all parties can continue to improve in accelerating development in order to realize Central Kalimantan which is full of BERKAH,” he said.
This activity is a form of joint collaboration between the government, the business world, and the community, especially the younger generation who are required to always learn in all fields in order to prepare themselves to become quality people in their respective fields, so that in time they will be able to receive the inheritance for the Nation’s Development.
The Governor of Central Kalimantan hopes that this activity can inspire people to be more familiar with the culinary specialties of the Central Kalimantan region and then there will be efforts to develop them into various variants, such as chocolate kenta, cheese kenta, peanut kenta, and other variants, not just the original one, so that the culinary Kenta can be a modern culinary favored by everyone, including the millennial generation.
Also attending the event were the Chair of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Steering Team for Family’s Welfare Empowerment Yulistra Ivo Sugianto Sabran, Central Kalimantan Deputy Governor H. Edy Pratowo, Member of Indonesian House of Representatives from Central Kalimantan Election Region Agustiar Sabran, Central Kalimantan Provincial Secretary H.
