Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo Leads Commemoration Ceremony of National Education Day
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan Edy Pratowo led the National Education Day Commemoration Ceremony in Central Kalimantan Province which was held at the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office Courtyard, Friday (13/5/2022). The 2022 National Education Day commemoration carries the theme “Lead Recovery, Lead Merdeka Learning”.
“In the midst of very huge waves, we continue to sail a large ship called Merdeka Learning which in its third year has sailed islands throughout Indonesia,” said the Minister of Education Nadiem Anwar Makarim in his speech read by Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo.
Furthermore, Nadiem said that the Merdeka Curriculum, which started as an effort to help teachers and students during the pandemic, was proven to be able to reduce the impact of loss of learning. Now the Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented in more than 140,000 education units throughout Indonesia. “This means that hundreds of thousands of Indonesian children have learned in a way that is much more fun and liberating,” he said.
“Our steps today are getting more simultaneous, our pace is getting faster. In the future there will still be strong winds and much bigger waves, we will continue to take command, lead change together, move for Merdeka Learning. Happy National Education Day,” concluded Nadiem Makarim encouraging all education activists.
Meanwhile, in a special interview with media after the ceremony, the Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo said that the 2022 National Education Day commemoration was a very good momentum to strive to advance the world of education, eradicate illiteracy, promote better knowledge, be filled with science and technology. “Even though we are still in the Covid-19 pandemic, there are still positive values that we do in advancing our education,” said Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo.
On this occasion, Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo symbolically handed over the Industrial Pre-Employment Fund for Vocational Schools throughout Central Kalimantan to the Head of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office with a total value of Rp 637,524,300, which will then be distributed to Vocational Schools in Central Kalimantan.
The National Education Day ceremony was attended directly and virtually by all ranks of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office, representatives of teachers and students as well as education activists throughout Central Kalimantan. (dew/ben/transl.feb)
