PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran, accompanied by the Provincial Secretary Nuryakin, received an audience of the CEO of City Mountain Bike (CMB) from Belgium Kristof Broyneel and his entourage of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Cycling Federation (PB ISSI) in Bajakah Meeting Room, Governor’s Office, Tuesday (17/5/2022).

The purpose of holding this hearing is to discuss in more detailed the implementation of the UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup 2022. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is a world bicycle organization or association that regulates professional cycling championships, competitions and activities headquartered in Aigle, Switzerland. While MTB stands for Mountain Bike.

The UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup 2022 is an open world championship, one of which will be held in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. This event itself will be held in 11 countries in 2022. In the ASEAN region, Indonesia is the only country that holds this championship and Central Kalimantan is the only province in Indonesia that will host this event. Like MotoGP which was held in Mandalika, NTB and Formula E which was held in Jakarta, the UCI MTB Eliminator will be held in Central Kalimantan.

With this activity, Central Kalimantan is also promoted to increase local tourism.

The UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup 2022 will be attended by 26 countries around the world and will also be watched by bicycle fans from all over Indonesia who will come to Central Kalimantan. There will be 11 series and Central Kalimantan is in the order of the 8th series.

On this occasion, Governor Sugianto Sabran who is also the General Chair of Central Kalimantan ISSI together with PB ISSI signed a cooperation agreement to organize this championship.
