Governor Takes Family to Watch Live Mangaruhi Competition
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran spent weekend taking his family including his beloved mother and wife (the Chair of Central Kalimantan Provincial Steering Team of Family’s Welfare Empowerment, Ivo Sugianto Sabran) and the member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from Central Kalimantan Election Region Agustiar Sabran to watch live Mangaruhi competition which was held at UPT Taman Budaya, Jalan Temanggung Tilung, Saturday (21/5/2022).
Mangaruhi is one of the traditional competition branches that will be competed in the 2022 Isen Mulang Cultural Festival (FBIM) series of competitions. Mangaruhi is a technique of catching fish with bare hands or without any tools in a muddy pond.
On this occasion, the Governor and his family seemed to be mingling with the community to give encouragement and support to the participants who were competing. The governor also provided appreciation in the form of cash prizes to the winners of Mangaruhi competition, namely the contingent from South Barito, Seruyan, and Sukamara.
Understanding the enthusiasm of the community towards this traditional competition, the Governor said that in the next opportunity, Mangaruhi will be competed individually. “But not now, it will take place probably on Bhayangkara or on my anniversary later on,” he said. (dew/win/ist/transl.feb)
