Ivo Sugianto Sabran Asks Chairperson of Family Welfare Program at Regency/ Municipality Level to Disseminate Prevention on Corona
PALANGKA RAYA – BUREAU OF PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION. The chairperson of Family Welfare Program of Central Kalimantan Province, Ivo Sugianto Sabran asks the Chairperson of Family Welfare Program at Regency/ Municipality level in Central Kalimantan to help disseminate the government’s appeal to all communities regarding things that need to be done to avoid the virus outbreak of Corona (Covid-19) and suppress its spread.
The dissemination includes common symptoms of Corona Virus infection, such as fever with a body temperature above 37.5 ̊C; dry cough and itching in the throat; nasal congestion; respiratory distress or shortness of breath; headache; as well as digestive problems such as diarrhea. In some cases, the Corona Virus can cause severe symptoms, of which the infection can turn into bronchitis and pneumonia. If people have these symptoms, they are asked to immediately go to the nearest hospital or Community Health Center and isolate themselves.
The dissemination to the community must also constantly emphasize the importance of following social distancing and physical distancing and regularly washing hands thoroughly with soap in running water. Ivo Sugianto Sabran gave an example, for mothers after returning from the market, they are reminded to immediately change their clothes and soak them in detergent water, then wash their hands before handling food and babies. Furthermore, people are encouraged to shower and wash their hair after traveling and as much as possible to ask other family members inside the house to open the door for those from outside.
People are advised to stay at home and not leave the house if there is no urgency. If you have to leave the house, you must wear mask and tear the mask after use, before throwing them into the trash, to avoid the recycled mask by irresponsible parties.
“Please follow all of these with full awareness because we have the potential to become the carriers of Corona Virus. Love your family and protect the people around you,” Ivo Sugianto Sabran reminded again.
Meanwhile, added by Ivo Sugianto Sabran, mothers still can be productive when they have to stay at home, such as by planting plants in pots or poly bags. Mothers can use the yard for the cultivation of vegetables or family medicinal plants. Various vegetables and herbs such as chilies, cucumbers, carrots, celery and lettuce, as well as medicinal plants such as lime, ginger, turmeric, cardamom can be produced at home while spending their spare time.
You can fill the time with useful activities and also help the family’s welfare and health,” explained by Ivo Sugianto Sabran. (translated by feb)
