All Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Institutions Hand Over Social Assistance for Victims of Flood Disaster
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Acting Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan H. Nuryakin on behalf of the Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran symbolically handed over social assistance to the Acting Head of Social Service of Central Kalimantan Province Farid Wajdi. The aid given for flood victims in Katingan and East Kotawaringin Regency was from all Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Institutions. The handing over was taken place in the Lobby of Governor’s Office, Wednesday (8/9/2021).
Also present to accompany the Acting Secretary at the handover were the Head of Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, Head of Food Crops, Horticultural and Livestock of Central Kalimantan Provincial Office, and Head of Central Kalimantan Provincial General Bureau.
“The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, especially all ranks of the State Civil Apparatus through the Provincial Government Institutions is concerned about the flood disaster that hit 11 regencies/city in Central Kalimantan. As a sense of social awareness, the Provincial Government Institutions provide assistance to flood victims, especially in Katingan and East Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan Province,” said Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin in his speech after handing over the aid.
The current condition of the community in the flooded area is very worrying, the water discharge is still high, so that some houses cannot be functioned again and the community must be evacuated to a higher place. This is considered to be a major concern, such as the need for clean water, food, clothing, and so on. Therefore, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government through the Provincial Government Institutions immediately assisted to provide aid. The distribution of the aid will be handed over directly on Thursday (9/9/2021) to residents in locations affected by the flood disaster.
Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin also said, “This social concern is a serious concern from the leadership, it is hoped that all Provincial Government Institutions will participate and of course we express our gratitude for the aid donations which will be distributed tomorrow. We hope that with this assistance, we can help the affected community, although at this time we know that assistance is not only from the provincial government, the Provincial Government Institutions, but also from various organizations, both the central government and community organizations as well as business actors in Central Kalimantan that participate to distribute their aid.”
Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin also said that after the flood, there were several possible diseases that could arise. Therefore, the public is asked to maintain health and hygiene, and keep a stronger immune system and comply with health protocols considering the current condition of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The following is a recap of the assistance from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Institutions which will be distributed up to 16.32 p.m., including cash in total of Rp. 31,000,000, total of 314 boxes of instant noodles, 2,455 kgs of rice, 520 cans of sardines, 35 cans and 12 boxes of milk, 50 pcs of cajuput oil, 1 box and 10 boxes of Antangin, 8 bales of bread, 2 boxes of Toddler food, 2 boxes of Energen, 46 pcs of sarongs and cloths, 14 boxes and 172 packs of biscuits, 16 dozen of underwear, and 15 packages of eggs.
