Visiting Lake Sadar in South Barito, Central Kalimantan Governor Considers to Develop Potential Commodities of Barito Watershed
DUSUN SELATAN – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran made a working visit to South Barito Regency on Friday (12/3/2021). The agenda for the working visit of the Governor was to review the potential that exists in Lake Sadar Village.
On the arrival, the delegation of Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran, was welcomed by the Regent of South Barito Eddy Raya Samsuri and his ranks as well as the members of Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of South Barito Regency. Afterwards, Governor Sugianto Sabran accompanied by the Regent of South Barito and his entourage then immediately observed the fishery potential in Lake Sadar by using a speedboat.
After the review, Governor Sugianto Sabran in his interview session revealed that his working visit this time was to see the potential of commodities in the Barito Watershed (DAS), especially Lake Sadar, and then plans will be made to develop this potential so that it can provide added value for the development of Central Kalimantan.
“Later we will send invitation to the Regents in the area of Barito watershed, then a careful planning will be set, what other commodities we should highlight in the Barito watershed area. For example if it’s farming in a broad sense, or secondary crops, and sweet potatoes, and then what kind of fisheries are there, we can see our strengths such as in Lake Sadar and others,” explained Governor Sugianto Sabran.
The Governor assessed that efforts to develop the potential of leading commodities in the Barito watershed need serious attention in order to spur development and improve the welfare of the people of Central Kalimantan, especially with the construction of the new State Capital in the neighboring province, East Kalimantan.
“Of course, we all have to be ready and when the new State Capital is developed, Central Kalimantan must take part and we must work,” concluded Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran.
Also accompanying the Central Kalimantan Governor on his visit were the Head of Public Works and Housing Office, Shalahuddin, Head of Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency Kaspinor, Head of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office Darliansjah, Head of Food Security Office Sunarti, Head of Regional Civil Service Lisda Arriyana, Acting Head of Transportation Office Yulindra Dedi, and Acting Head Executive Administration Bureau Johni Sonder.
Prior to his working visit in South Barito Regency, Governor Sugianto Sabran along with his entourage in a series of working visits this time also conducted a review of the Karau Dam, located in East Barito Regency. (set/man/translated by feb)
