Starting 2022, Central Kalimantan Province Again Carried Out Vaccination for Children Aged 6-11 Years Old
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Starting 2022, Central Kalimantan Provincial Government again conducted vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in the area of Palangka Raya, located in Central Kalimantan Governor’s Office Courtyard, Sunday (2/1/2022). This vaccination was carried out due to the high enthusiasm of the people of Palangka Raya to participate in the vaccination for children aged 6-11 years.
Head of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, Suyuti Syamsul, when inspecting the implementation of vaccination for children aged 6-11 years said that today’s activity was carried out to complete the vaccination program which was held before; on Friday (12/31/2021), so that the target of vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in Central Kalimantan can be achieved.
On that occasion, Suyuti Syamsul also said that vaccination activities will continue to be carried out in schools in collaboration with regencies/municipality, so that children aged 6-11 years may receive vaccines, unless there are medical considerations that prevent vaccines from being given.
Suyuti Syamsul hopes that the implementation of vaccination for children aged 6-11 years can support face-to-face learning activities directly, so that they can be run with a sense of security and protection. Therefore, it is considered necessary to cooperate between the Provincial Government, Regency / Municipality Government, as well as education stakeholders, parents, and foster parents of the students to jointly accelerate vaccination so that face-to-face learning activities can be soon back to normal.
The vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in Central Kalimantan is carried out in stages, of which the first stage was held in the province and regencies/municipality level with the criteria for vaccination coverage of dose 1 above 70% and vaccination coverage for the elderly above 60%. Kick off vaccination for children aged 6-11 years has been carried out in Pangkalan Bun, West Kotawaringin Regency, followed by Lamandau Regency, Sukamara Regency, and Pulang Pisau Regency.
In today’s vaccination activity for children aged 6-11 years, there were also door prizes of 53 bicycles out of a total of 83 door prizes that were drawn during the vaccination last Friday (12/31/2021).
Also attending today’s vaccination activity were the Governor’s Expert Staff, Assistant to the Provincial Secretary, Heads of relevant Provincial Government Institutions, as well as the health workers and vaccinators. (may/bow/trans.by feb)
