Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force: Other than Vaccination, Complying with Health Protocols is Also an Effort to Prevent Omicron Variant
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a Press Release regarding the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Central Kalimantan until 03.00 p.m., Monday (10/1/2022).
The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team said that as of January 8, 2022, the total number of cases from the Omicron variant reached 414 cases with the addition of 75 new cases on that day of which the 383 cases were foreign travelers, especially those with a travel history from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, while 31 cases were local transmissions. For this reason, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team invites the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols even though they have been vaccinated. “Please don’t get infected and do not infect others. Let’s work together to stop the spread of Covid-19!” urged the Task Force Team.
The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force team appealed that in addition to vaccination, the implementation of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 5M principles: wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleaning hands with sanitizer, maintaining distance, limiting mobility, and avoiding crowds.
The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team conveyed the number of accumulated data to date: there was an addition of 1 person for positive confirmed Covid-19 in Central Kalimantan, bringing the total to 46727 people. There was an addition of 2 people recovered, bringing the total to 45127 people. And there was an addition of 1 person died, bringing the total to 1590 people.
The following is the accumulation of Covid-19 data up to 03.00 WIB: there was an addition of 1 person for confirmation case, namely in Kapuas, from 46726 people to 46727 people. There were 2 people recovered,1 person in West Kotawaringin and 1 person in Murung Raya, from 45125 people to 45127 people. There was a decrease of 2 people under treatment, from 12 people to 10 people. There was an addition of 1 person died, namely in Palangka Raya, so from 1589 people to 1590 people, with a death rate (CFR) of 3.4%.
For Bed Occupancy Rate in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds did not experience a change in Bed Occupancy (0.00%), so that it remained 7.14%, where no Regency/Municipality had BOR above 50%, while Beds Insulation experienced a decrease in Bed Occupancy (0.08%), from 1.20% to 1.12%, in which no Regency/Municipality had a BOR above 50%.
For the achievement of vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 81.02%. The regency that has not yet reached 70% is Gunung Mas (69.84%). For the achievement of vaccination target for teachers and education personnel, high schools (SMA), and equivalent vocational schools (SMK), the realization of PNS/GTT/PTT Vaccination did not increase so that it remained at 6,258 or 79.01%. The first dose of SMA/SMK was not added, so it remained at 73.202 or 76.95%, and the second dose of SMA/SMK was not added, so it remained at 32,403 or 34.06%.
Based on Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 02 of 2022 dated January 3, 2022 on the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and District Level to Control the Spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in Sumatra , Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/municipality in Central Kalimantan Province, there are three criteria, namely Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 (valid until January 17, 2022). The regencies/cities with these criteria include: Level 1, covering East Kotawaringin, Kapuas, South Barito, North Barito, Seruyan, Lamandau, Gunung Mas, Pulang Pisau, and East Barito; Level 2, covering West Kotawaringin, Katingan, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya; and Level 3 covering Sukamara.
