Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin Opened Kickoff Meeting on Development Program of Housing, Settlement, Drinking Water, and Sanitation in Central Kalimantan 2022
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin opened the Kickoff Meeting on the Development Program for Housing, Settlement, Drinking Water, and Sanitation (PPAS) in Central Kalimantan 2022, at the hall of Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency of Central Kalimantan, in Palangka Raya, on Wednesday (6/4/2022).
“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the Kickoff Meeting on Development Program for Housing, Settlement, Drinking Water and Sanitation in Central Kalimantan 2022, is officially opened,” said the Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin in his remarks.
Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin then explained that this meeting was held to start the implementation of PPAS programs and activities in Central Kalimantan Province in 2022, as a preparation for 2023planning, and as a follow-up to the National PPAS Working Group on Annual Kickoff Meeting which was held virtually in March 2022.
Affirmed by the Acting Provincial Secretary, the development of housing, settlement, drinking water and sanitation is focused on fulfilling basic services as well as overcoming and preventing stunting. In addition, housing, drinking water, wastewater are indicators of achieving Minimum Service Standards (SPM) that must be met by the regions.
The Acting Provincial Secretary also stated that the PPAS development target for 2020-2024 for each province has been set by the National PPAS Working Group. For Central Kalimantan, the targets until 2024 are: (1) 70.98% for livable houses; (2) 100% for access to safe drinking water, for a target of drinking water from pipe network is 26.01% and not from pipe network is 73.99%; (3) 80% for access to proper sanitation; (4) 8% for safe sanitation; (5) 0% for defecating outside (in the open); (5) 83% for urban waste management.
“The provincial PPAS development targets for 2020-2024 have been distributed to targeted regencies/municipality throughout Central Kalimantan, then they formulate them into appropriate programs/activities, in order to accelerate the achievement of PPAS development targets,” explained the Acting Provincial Secretary.
Furthermore, through this kickoff meeting, the Acting Provincial Secretary hopes to further strengthen the synergy and common perception to jointly encourage the acceleration of development in the housing, settlement, drinking water and sanitation sectors throughout Central Kalimantan.
“It is hoped that the program of activities in the housing, settlement, drinking water, and sanitation sectors can be integrated to achieve harmonious development between regencies/municipality in order to make Central Kalimantan to be more BERKAH,” hoped the Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin at the end of his speech.
Being present to accompany the Acting Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan in the event were the Head of the Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency Kaspinor and several heads of divisions. Meanwhile, being present virtually was the Assistant for Economics and Development Leonard S. Ampung.
The event, which was held in a hybrid (offline and online) manner, was attended by a number of regency/municipality regional secretaries as well as the heads of related regional government institutions of the provincial and regency/municipality government throughout Central Kalimantan.
