Plenary Meeting of Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives is Expected to Create New Breakthroughs
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. The First Meeting Period of the 2020 Session Year of Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives was opened today, Wednesday (01/15/2020), at the 1st Plenary Meeting in Plenary Meeting Room of Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives.
On his remarks read by Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan Habib Ismail Bin Yahya, the Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran delivered a number of key subjects that would be discussed during the First Meeting Period of the 2020 Session Year.
A number of subjects are, among others, the Draft of Regional Government Regulation on Forest Fires, Draft of Regional Government Regulation concerning Revocation of Central Kalimantan Province Regulation No. 4/2004 on Students Dormitory Management owned by Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, Draft of Regional Government Regulation on Public Policy and Public Order, Draft of Regional Government Regulation on Regional Energy, and Draft of Regional Government Regulation on Management of Regional Property.
Governor Sugianto Sabran hopes that legislative and executive meetings can produce new breakthroughs. “I hope, in addition to the completion of various meeting materials that have been determined and scheduled, we will also be able to create more creative breakthroughs and new ideas, so we can face any challenges and obstacles met in our regional development and community welfare for the better of Central Kalimantan,“ he explained.
On this occasion, Governor and all official ranks of Provincial Government Organizations of Central Kalimantan also expressed their deep condolences for the death of former member of Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives for 2014-2019 period H.M. Anderiansyah on Sunday (01/12/2020) in Muara Teweh, North Barito.
Beforehand, the Chairman of Central Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives Wiyatno on his speech delivered several things that should be observed in formulating regional strategic policies in 2020. According to Wiyatno, on September 23, 2020, people of Central Kalimantan, along with other 269 regions in Indonesia will conduct a democracy party, namely election of Governor / Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan and Regent / Vice Regent of East Kotawaringin. “This regional head election, in addition to absorbing regional budget, will also increase the escalation of contestation that could have created tension in communities,” he explained.
At the regional level, the designation of East Kalimantan Province as the new Capital of our State has placed Central Kalimantan Province as the Main Buffer Region, specifically in four districts along Barito River Basin. “If we can take this condition as our advantage, it can be an opportunity to increase economic growth, open up employment opportunities, and create new businesses,” Wiyatno added.
Furthermore, both at the national and international level, said Wiyatno, we have to concern and focus on Indonesia’s economic growth which is predicted to stagnate due to global economic downturn and waves of uncertainty because the strike to the national economy will have an impact on the budget structure and economic downturn in the regions.
The opening session of meeting was attended by the representatives of Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum of Central Kalimantan, numbers of Central Kalimantan Provincial Secretariate officials, Heads of Regional Government Organizations and Heads of Representative Offices in Central Kalimantan, banking chair persons, regional-owned Enterprises, academics, community leaders and youth leaders.
