Governor Inaugurates Central Kalimantan Commission of Information for 2019 – 2023 Period
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran inaugurated members of Central Kalimantan Commission of Information for 2019-2023 period in Eka Hapakat Hall, the third floor of Central Kalimantan Governor’s Office, Monday (2/24/2020).
In his remarks, Governor Sugianto Sabran stated that currently the pattern of government relations with the community had changed, in which the people wanted transparency, information disclosure, and dialogic interaction. With an open government, it is expected to encourage public participation in the policy formulation process and provide space for public scrutiny. “With this openness principle, it will build public trust in the government,” he explained.
Governor hopes this Commission of Information can oversee public information disclosure while providing stimulants for democratic development. “It is hoped that the existence of this Commission of Information, in addition to overseeing the disclosure of public information, can also provide stimulants for democratic development by building governance that is clean, transparent, and free of corruption,” said Governor Sugianto Sabran.
On this occasion, Governor also congratulated the new members of Central Kalimantan Commission of Information and thanked the members of the previous term. “Thank you to all members of Central Kalimantan Commission of Information, who have dedicated their time, energy, and thoughts to develop Central Kalimantan, especially in the field of information disclosure,” he concluded.
The five members of Commission of Information appointed today are Setni Betlina, M. Mukhlas Roziqin, Srie Rosmilawati, Baneri Repelita, and Daan Rismon. The members of this independent institution which is in charge of settling public information disputes are elected after going through a series of selection stages that have taken place since mid of 2019.
Acting Head of Communication, Information, Statistics and Coding Office of Central Kalimantan Agus Siswadi, in his report explained, registration of participants for the selection of members of Central Kalimantan Commission of Information took place on June 20 to July 3 2019. Furthermore, the administrative selection was carried out on July 8-12, 2019, potential tests were on July 22, 2019, psychological testing phase and group dynamics were on 22 August 2019, and the interview stage was on 16-17 September 2019. The fit and proper test by Central Kalimantan House of the Representatives was held on 27-28 November 2019.
Meanwhile, the inauguration was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of Central Commission of Information of the Republic of Indonesia Hendra J. Kede, a number of Provincial Secretariat officials and the Heads of Central Kalimantan Government Organizations, as well as the members and the representatives of Provincial Leadership Forum Coordination.
