Governor Launched New Students Reception (PPDB) for High Schools / Vocational Schools / Special Education Schools, 2020/2021 Academic Year
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran who was represented by the Acting Head of Education Office Mofit Saptono launched the New Students Reception (PPDB) for High Schools / Vocational Schools / Special Education Schools in Central Kalimantan Province, 2020/2021 academic year. The launching event was held online via video conference using zoom application in Jayang Tingang Hall (AJT), Monday morning (05/04/2020) followed by representatives of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion in Central Kalimantan and school principals of High Schools / Vocational Schools / Special Education Schools in Central Kalimantan Province.
On the speech read by the Acting  Head of Education Office of Central Kalimantan, Governor conveyed the message that heads of education units at all levels in Central Kalimantan to pay attention to several things, among others: first, the implementation of PPDB must focus on 4 (four) admissions paths: zoning, affirmation, parents’ working transfer, and students’ achievement.
Second, zoning and affirmation should be prioritized in the implementation of PPDB in each school with the aim of equalizing the quality of education and bringing students closer to education units.
Third, the close domicile of parents with schools in one zone will help schools and the community to supervise and prevent students from being directly involved or becoming victims of violence / crime, and drug abuse.
Fourth, the use of parents’ working transfer path and students’ achievement by the education unit in PPDB is carried out if there is still a quota left after acceptance through the zoning and affirmation while still referring to the PPDB implementation guidelines for the 2020/2021 academic year.
Fifth, regarding the status of COVID-19 Emergency Response in Central Kalimantan Province, then the health of students, teachers, school principals and all school residents, and the community becomes the main consideration for the implementation of PPDB.
Sixth, the PPDB education unit process must comply with health protocols, therefore implementation can be online and offline by optimizing computer assistance.
Seventh, for schools that carry out PPDB offline must implement the rules by arranging the time for the queue comes to school at the stage of socialization, registration, and announcement.
Governor asked the Central Kalimantan Provincial Inspector and all Inspectors in Regencies / City in Central Kalimantan to carefully monitor the elements involved in the PPDB implementation process so as not to deviate from Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 44 of 2019 and Circular of Minister of Education and Culture No. 4 of 2020 and the Governor’s Decree of Central Kalimantan Number 188.44 / 39/2020. “If there are irregularities in the process of implementing PPDB, actions and guidance can be carried out in accordance with applicable mechanisms and regulations,” he said.
Appreciation was also conveyed by Governor to all school principals and teachers who are still carrying out their duties in the situation of Covid-19 Pandemic Emergency Response. “This proves that the enthusiasm of teachers as heroes of education to educate future generations of Central Kalimantan BERKAH is no doubt,” he said.
