Governor Sugianto Sabran Encourages Mayor of Palangka Raya to Conduct Strategic Steps in Facing Covid-19 Case Increase
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Provincial Government through the Task Force for Covid-19 Handling Acceleration noted the addition of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 per Friday, June 12, 2020 in Palangka Raya increased by 4 people bringing the total to 191 people. Based on the cumulative data from the Task Force, Palangka Raya was the region with the highest positive confirmed cases of 191 people, followed by Kapuas with 106 and Kotawaringin Barat 76.
Noticing this, Governor Sugianto Sabran encouraged the Mayor of Palangka Raya to take steps to accelerate efforts to deal with Covid-19, including disciplining the economic activities in market, public facilities, socio-cultural activities as well as the movement of people and goods using transportation modes.
Governor Sugianto asked Mayor of Palangka Raya to involve Police and Military, Community Organizations and stakeholders so that the disciplining would be effective. As is known, the effective reproduction rate (Rt) of Palangka Raya is more than 1 (1.53), then Governor Sugianto Sabran encourages the Mayor of Palangka Raya re-submit the proposal for Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) if deemed necessary as part of a strategic step the government in suppressing the spread of the Covid-19.
Furthermore, Governor Sugianto Sabran reminded that in the implementation of disciplining or PSBB experiencing obstacles, the Mayor of Palangka Raya can immediately report directly to the Governor to determine the next steps for strategic handling. (rik/renn/sop/bow/udn/translated by feb)
