Leading Coordination Meeting on Food Estate Development Preparation, Governor Sugianto: We Show Central Kalimantan is Cooperative and Ready
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran directly led the Coordination Meeting on ​​the Follow Up of the Indonesian President’s Direction and the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture’s Work Visit related to the Development of Food Estate in Central Kalimantan Province, located in Jayang Tingang Hall, II floor of Governor’s Office, Palangka Raya, Friday afternoon (12/06/2020).
The coordination meeting discussed about various things that must be prepared for the new food barns program (Food Estate) which is planned to be developed in the ex-Peatland Development area (PLG) in Pulang Pisau Regency and Kapuas Regency. This Strategic Program is one of the Government’s efforts to support national food security, as directed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The day before, Governor Sugianto Sabran with the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo visited the location of Food Estate in the former peatland area in Pulang Pisau Regency and Kapuas Regency. During the visit of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, he asked all stakeholders to support the establishment of this very strategic Food Estate program. “Help the Governor, help the Commander Chief, the Regional Police Chief, and all Regents. I (Minister of Agriculture) will continue to assist, so that (Food Estate) can be established soon,” said Minister Yasin Limpo.
Various steps have been taken by Central Kalimantan Provincial Government to finalize the preparation of the Food Estate, both in terms of land preparation, road infrastructure and irrigation, labor needs and distribution channels.
When giving direction in the coordination meeting, Governor Sugianto Sabran invited all stakeholders to work together to establish cooperation to follow up on the direction of Mr. President Joko Widodo who has entrusted Central Kalimantan as a national food barn. “All provinces in Kalimantan wants to be chosen as a buffer for national food security, but Central Kalimantan is very much fit at this time, so we must be cooperative to show Central Kalimantan ready,” said the Governor.
Also present at the meeting: the Chairperson of House of the Representatives of Central Kalimantan, Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Pol. Indro Wiyono, Regional Military Commander 102 / Panju Panjung Brigjen TNI Purwo Sudaryanto, Head of Regional Intelligence Agency Brigjen Pol. Slamet Urip Widodo, Deputy Head of Marang High Prosecutor Office, Provincial Secretary Fahrizal Fitri, and a number of Head of Vertical Institutions and other elated institutions.
