The Acting Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan Nuryakin virtually attended the Summit of the International Anti-Corruption Day Commemoration of the Ministry of Finance 2021 at Bajakah 2 Meeting Room, Second Floor, Governor’s Office, Wednesday (12/8/2021). In addition to the Regional Heads or the representatives, this event was also attended virtually by the leaders of Ministries and Institutions.

International Anti-Corruption Day which is celebrated every December 9 is intended to raise public awareness regarding anti-corruption culture. At this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day commemoration, the Ministry of Finance carries the theme “Strengthening Anti-Corruption Culture, Creating a Trusted Ministry of Finance, Towards a Resilient and Growing Indonesia”. Meanwhile, the big theme that was carried nationally at this commemoration was “Together We Create Anti-Corruption Culture”.

Acting as the keynote speaker, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that corruption is a very dangerous disease. “Corruption will reduce economic performance and the performance of the democratic system or representation,” explained the Minister of Finance.

Besides being able to erode the foundations of social and state life, corruption can erode the level of trust in the government. “People can no longer trust the government which is considered very corrupt, so there will be social political turmoil, creating extraordinary inequality, creating damage in socio-economic life,” she said.

“So, corruption is a common enemy. It doesn’t consider the location and the position, it doesn’t care about the profession, all of them can be caught by this so-called corruption disease. So, don’t ever think that corruption is only for certain officials or groups of institutions,” added Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Indonesia’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) score continues to improve from year to year. 2019 was the highest achievement in Indonesia’s CPI score for the last 25 years. However, Indonesia’s CPI in 2020 was at a score of 37/100 and was ranked 102 out of 180 countries surveyed. This score was down 3 points from 2019.

In addition to the Minister of Finance, the presentation and directions were also conveyed by the Chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK RI) Firli Bahuri, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of BPKP Muhammad Yusuf Ateh.
