PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Provincial Government continues to race against time to deal with the spread of COVID-19 by finalizing the mitigation plan and issuing a number of policies in accordance with the central government’s direction and the developments in the region.

One of the policies adopted to cut off the chain of COVID-19 spread is that students ranging from pre-schools to universities are given 14 days off from 19 to 31 March 2020. This step is outlined along with other points in Governor’s Decree Number 443.1 / 23 / DISDIK concerning the Emergency Preparedness Protocol for COVID-19 Pandemic Disaster within Central Kalimantan Education Office. During the days off, students are still given the tasks to learn at home.

Work From Home (WFH) for 14 days is also applied to State Civil Apparatuses of Central Kalimantan Provincial Government. This is a step to adjust the State Civil Apparatus’ work system as well as efforts to minimize the number of people in accordance with the Instruction and Protocol related to handling COVID-19.

As of today, Thursday (3/19/2020), all State Civil Apparatuses including contract employees of Central Kalimantan Provincial Government are allowed to work from their homes except for the High-ranking Officials, Administrator Officers, and Supervisory Officers who continue to work at office as usual. Other staff can work at home or be scheduled by the head of the respective regional institutions. This was conveyed by the Governor to all State Civil Apparatuses of Central Kalimantan Provincial Government in the Governor’s office front yard, Wednesday afternoon (3/18/2020).

Governor also added that all State Civil Apparatuses’  salary and allowances would not be reduced. “Take care of your health, keep exercising and be positive. Don’t be too anxious,” he ordered.

While for handling the matters relating to public and basic social services, for example hospitals, health centres, and regional institutions that handle licenses, will be adjusted or regulated by the head of the respective regional institutions. “We ensure that services to the public will not be hampered,” explained Katma F. Dirun, Head of Regional Civil Service Office, in his statement after the Governor’s Video Conference with Regional Leaders and Members of Regional Leadership Coordination Forum.

Katma added, related to service, State Civil Apparatuses are prohibited from going out on business trips and holding meetings with large numbers of people unless the room can parse the number or there is a minimum distance of 1.5 meters between people. However, if the event or activity requires a mass, Governor has instructed to use technology or electronic media.

State Civil Apparatuses who are sick prohibited from going into office and should report themselves via WA or SMS to their respective superiors and are required to immediately conduct an examination at the nearest health service center. The State Civil Apparatuses’ Assembly in the morning and afternoon are removed, disinfectants in every office environment are being sprayed, and hand sanitizers are provided, especially in the offices that provide direct services to public (dew/bow/translated by feb)
