PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Central Kalimantan Governor represented by Assistant for Economy and Development Leonard S. Ampung, launched the Export of Central Kalimantan Fishery Products which was marked by the release of export products at the Lobby of Central Kalimantan Governor’s Office, Friday (18/2/2022) morning.

The products of 30,000 of Botia fish and 5,000 of Saluang fish were exported to Singapore and 50,000 of Botia fish and 1,000 of Saluang fish were exported to Japan, with the exporter was CV Tirta Haring Borneo; 3,000 pcs of Aquatic Plants or Buchepalandra type aquatic plants were exported Czech Europe, with exporter was CV Borneo Aquatik; and 130 kg or 130 of Betutu/Bakut fish or Marble Goby were exported to Malaysia, with the individual exporter was Ali Giono Bakut.

The launch was a follow-up to the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government’s commitment to improve the regional economy, one of which is through the export of Central Kalimantan products as well as the momentum for the revival of Central Kalimantan’s fishery product exports which have added value and are competitive at the international level.

The Central Kalimantan Governor through his Assistant for Economy and Development Leonard S. Ampung, expressed his appreciation to all exporters for their enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication for being proactive in developing the economy of Central Kalimantan. The governor directed all stakeholders not to give up during the COVID-19 pandemic, but to work hard to make innovations and breakthroughs according to the potential of natural resources to restore the economy of Central Kalimantan. “Including us, we must be more observant, seeing the export market opportunities that are still wide open and the potential is still very large, the key is that we must be proactive,” said the Governor.

On this occasion, the Governor emphasized the advantages of Central Kalimantan’s local fishery products, diversity, and uniqueness that other regions do not have. “Currently, Central Kalimantan local fishery products that are very popular with importing countries include Botia fish, Saluang fish, Betutu or Bakut fish, Aquatic Plants, Toman fish, Sapu-sapu fish, Lais fish, Baung fish, and Julung-julung fish. “Many countries are interested in these typically local fish of Central Kalimantan,” said the Governor.

Considering this promising export potential and opportunities, Governor asked all stakeholders to identify and map the potential of Central Kalimantan fishery products, increase commitment and facilitation of development, provide support for export facilities and infrastructure, strengthen cooperation with banks and export financing institutions, and provide certainty on the scheduled flight and completeness of export documents in Palangka Raya.

“Alhamdullilah, today I officially launch the Export of Marine and Fishery Products of Central Kalimantan which have added value and are competitive to the global market, to achieve Central Kalimantan more BERKAH,” said the Governor.

Also present at the launch were the Head of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Marine and Fisheries Service, Darliansjah, the Head of the Center for Standardization and Compliance of the Fish Quarantine Agency, Quality Control, and Security of Fishery Products, Teguh Samudro, the Head of the Quarantine and Quality Control Station of Palangka Raya, the Head of BI for Central Kalimantan, the Head of the Financial Services Authority in Central Kalimantan, the President Director of PT Bank Kalteng, the Head of Customs and Excise in Palangka Raya, the Executive GM of Angkasa Pura II Palangka Raya, as well as the exporters (dew/ben/transl.feb)
