PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a Press Release for today, Tuesday (01/02/2022), regarding the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Central Kalimantan until 03.00 p.m.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team, as well as the Central Covid-19 Handling Task Force, said that the daily spike of Covid-19 cases was increasing, mainly due to the Omicron variant. The government has anticipated it and has prepared several steps to deal with it, such as improving health facilities and infrastructure and providing telemedicine services (health service applications).

To avoid an increase in the burden on health personnel and facilities, the government urges patients without symptoms (asymptomatic) to self-isolate at home for 5 days. Meanwhile, patients with mild symptoms, such as cough, runny nose, or fever, can use telemedicine services or go to the Health Centers (Puskesmas), or the nearest doctor. “Let’s remain aware, be disciplined in implementing health protocols, and reduce unnecessary mobility,” the Task Force Team urged.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force team appealed that in addition to vaccination, the implementation of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 5M principles: wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleansing hands with sanitizer, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds.

5M’s healthy behavior is a very important prevention effort. The Covid-19 prevention strategy by the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force for Behavior Change is focused on increasing 5M compliance. Everyone must be willing and able to make changes to 5M compliance behavior, so as to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

According to Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 07 of 2022 dated January 31, 2022 on the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and Sub-District Levels to Control the Transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/municipality in Central Kalimantan Province, there are 2 criteria, namely Level 1 and Level 2 (valid until February 14, 2022). The regencies/municipality with these criteria include: Level 1, covering West Kotawaringin, South Barito, North Barito, Katingan, Sukamara, Pulang Pisau, and East Barito; and Level 2, covering East Kotawaringin, Kapuas, Seruyan, Lamandau, Gunung Mas, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team conveyed the number of accumulated data on positive confirmed Covid-19 patients in Central Kalimantan which had an addition of 26 people, bringing the total to 46804 people. There was 1 person recovered, namely in West Kotawaringin , so from 45150 people to 45151 people. There were additional 25 people under treatment, so from 37 people to 62 people. There were no additional cases of death, so it remained 1591 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.4%.

For Bed Occupancy Ratio in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds experienced a decrease in Bed Occupancy (2.38%), from 9.52% to 7.14%, in which no Regency/Municipality had BOR above 50%, while Insulation Beds experienced a decrease in Bed Occupancy (0.95%), so from 2.94% to 1.99%, where there was no Regency/Municipality with BOR above 50%.

For the achievement of vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 88.15%. All regencies/municipality have achieved more than 70% of Dose I Vaccination.
