In a statement released today, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force said that the Ministry of Health’s data stated that there was an increasing trend of deaths among working age group. Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Prof. Wiku Adisasmito said the data showed that 46.7% of deaths came from the population over 60 years old, 36.7% from age group ranged from 46-59 years old, and 12.7% from age group ranged from 31-45 years old.

He further explained, if referring to the World Health Organization (WHO), the delta variant which has been found in almost 132 countries in the world has caused 80% increase in cases over the last 4 weeks. For those who are exposed, must get intensive care so as not to lead to death.

“In fact, the chance of death increases when a patient is treated or referred late and has comorbidities,” said Wiku.

In addition, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force of Central Kalimantan also conveyed an appeal that in addition to vaccination, the implementation of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in dealing with Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 4M principles: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds.

Every day, the number of confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 in Central Kalimantan is increasing. People at high risk are those who have comorbidities, such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, to kidney failure. In addition, people who have low immune systems, elderly people over 60 years, and those who are obese or overweight.

4M’s healthy behavior is a very important prevention effort. Covid-19 prevention strategy by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force of Central Kalimantan for Behavior Change is focused on increasing 4M compliance. Everyone must be willing and able to make changes in 4M compliance behavior, so as to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

Furthermore, the data on Covid-19 in Central Kalimantan was conveyed today: there were 286 additional Confirmation Cases, namely in Palangka Raya (97 people), West Kotawaringin (17 people), East Kotawaringin (15 people), Kapuas (61 people), Murung Raya (25 people), Sukamara (10 people), Gunung Mas (28 people), Katingan (6 people), East Barito (2 people), North Barito (7 people), Pulang Pisau (5 people), Seruyan (2 people), and South Barito (11 people), bringing the total from 35,909 people to 36,195 people.

There are 302 recovered patients, namely in Palangka Raya (132 people), East Kotawaringin (19 people), Kapuas (36 people), Murung Raya (55 people), Sukamara (1 person), Gunung Mas (18 people), Katingan (10 people), East Barito (1 person), Lamandau (3 people), Pulang Pisau (22 people), and Seruyan (5 people), a total of 31,435 people.

There is no additional Suspected case, so it remains 173 people. There is no additional Probable case, so it remains 104 people. There was a decrease of 21 Patients Under Treatment from 3,571 people to 3,550 people. There is increase of death cases (5 deaths), namely in Katingan (1 person), East Kotawaringin (3 people), and Kapuas (1 person), from 1,205 people to 1,210 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.3%.

The distribution of Active Cases in District and Village/Sub-district experienced the addition of 1 District and 13 Villages/Sub-districts, from 102 Districts (75.00%) to 103 Districts (75.74%) and from 370 Villages/Sub-districts (22.09 %) to 383 Villages/Sub-districts (22.87%).

The RT Zone of Active Cases has decreased by 22 RTs: 1 RT on Red Zone (0.01%) to 2 RTs (0.02%), 63 RTs on Orange Zone (0.60%) to 62 RTs (0.59 %), and 1181 RTs on Yellow Zone (11.22%) to 1159 RTs (11.01%).

For Bed Utilization in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds had a decrease in Bed Usage (2.6%), from 56.4% to 53.8%, there were 4 Regencies/Municipality with BOR above 50 %, namely Murung Raya, East Kotawaringin, West Kotawaringin, and Palangka Raya, while Insulation Beds had a decrease in Used Beds (1.6%), from 56.1% to 54.5%, there were 5 regencies /municipality with BOR above 50%, namely South Barito, Kapuas, Palangka Raya, Murung Raya, and East Kotawaringin.

The achievement of vaccination target, namely Health Workers Phase I at 109.41% and Phase II at 103.25%, Public Service Phase I at 136.04% and Phase II at 82.40%, Elderly Phase I at 21.74% and Phase II at 14.81%, the General and Vulnerable Society Phase I at 7.94% and Phase II at 3.63%, and Adolescents Phase I at 1.64% and Phase II at 0.23%.
