Public Communications Team of Covid-19 Handling Task Force of Central Kalimantan citing the Central Covid-19 Task Force in a press release on Sunday (8/8/2021) said that An Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) is medical symptom that can occur after vaccination/immunization which is suspected to be related to the given vaccination/immunization. “In general, AEFI is temporary and mild and will go away on its own without treatment,” explained the Task Force Team.

Furthermore, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team explained, “If body reacts with AEFI after receiving vaccination, stay calm. Pain, swelling, and redness at the injection can be treated with cold compress. If you have fever, you can compress or take a warm bath, drink plenty of water, rest, and take medicine if necessary.”

The Task Force team also recommends that if there are people who have severe reaction to AEFI, they should record it in details and immediately report it to the officer, health service facility, or the contact listed on the vaccination card and the AEFI reporting website at https://keamananvaksin.kemkes.go .id.

The Task Force team emphasized that vaccines are safe and proven to protect, so the public is advised not to hesitate to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination program in addition to the discipline of implementing the 4M health protocols (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds) and doing 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment).

In today’s press release, the data on Covid-19 until 03.00 p.m. was also conveyed, where as many as 13 regencies and 1 municipality had been affected. Confirmation cases increased from 294 people to 37431 people, namely in Palangka Raya (80 people), Katingan (2 people), East Kotawaringin (7 people), West Kotawaringin (27 people), Lamandau (3 people), Sukamara (8 people), Pulang Pisau (1 person), Kapuas (103 people), Gunung Mas (23 people), South Barito (1 person), East Barito (1 person), North Barito (33 people), and Murung Raya (5 people).

The number of recovered patients increased significantly by 796 people so it is 32560 people in total, namely in Palangka Raya (710 people), East Kotawaringin (18 people), West Kotawaringin (26 people), Sukamara (2 people), Seruyan (2 people), Pulang Pisau (9 people), Kapuas (14 people), Gunung Mas (4 people), South Barito (3 people), and Murung Raya (8 people).

There was a decrease of patients under treatment by 513 people so it is 3629 people in total. The Death Case increased by 11 people so it is 1242 people in total with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.3%, namely 6 people in Palangka Raya, 4 people in East Kotawaringin, and 1 person in Kapuas.

For Bed Utilization in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds had a decrease in Bed Usage (7.7%), from 59.0% to 51.3%, there were 3 Regencies/Municipality with BOR above 50 %, namely East Kotawaringin, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya. Meanwhile, Insulation Beds had a decrease in Used Beds (2.1%), from 53.6% to 51.6%, there are 4 Regencies/Municipality with BOR above 50%, namely Kapuas, South Barito, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya.

For the achievement of vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Phase I vaccination was 451,798 (22.19%) and Phase II was 270,267 (13.27%). (ran/translated by feb)
