Government Continues to Monitor Development of Covid-19 Pandemic in Various Countries

PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Public Communication Team of Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a Press Release on the progress of handling Covid-19 until Saturday (05/06/2021) at 15.00 p.m.

In a statement released this time, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force said that currently there are several countries that are experiencing a crisis in handling Covid-19, with indications of a significant increase in cases. Several countries have implemented special policies in the form of lockdowns and have also implemented other policies, such as extending the duration of quarantine as a measure to suppress transmission as much as possible.

Explained by the Coordinator of Expert Team and Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, the government continues to monitor the development of pandemic in various countries. This monitoring is carried out as a basis for formulating policies for handling Covid-19 at the national level. In principle, the various policies established always take into account various aspects for the health and safety of the community.

Furthermore, the Indonesian government is currently also controlling national cases after the long holiday during Eid al-Fitr. Therefore, to ensure that cases at the national level can be well controlled, the government also continues to anticipate an increase in cases due to the importation of cases originating from international travelers. To that end, the government strives to establish the most effective and efficient policies.

The Task Force also emphasized that the Covid-19 condition which has been quite under control recently needs to be maintained. Of course, this effort requires collaboration and hard work from various parties so that it continues to improve. The official decision that will be taken by the government will be through an appropriate risk and cost-benefit analysis taking into account the very dynamic development of Covid-19.

Furthermore, the development of Central Kalimantan Covid-19 data was conveyed today, where there were 90 additional Confirmation Cases, namely in Palangka Raya (16 people), Katingan (2 people), East Kotawaringin (8 people), West Kotawaringin (29 people), Sukamara (27 people), South Barito (1 person), East Barito (5 people), and Murung Raya (2 people), so from 22,897 people to 22,987 people.

There were 102 recovered patients, namely in Palangka Raya (60 people), Katingan (5 people), East Kotawaringin (4 people), West Kotawaringin (14 people), Sukamara (10 people), Pulang Pisau (2 people), Kapuas (3 people), South Barito (1 person), and East Barito (3 people), a total of 21,141 people.

Suspect cases have decreased by 96 people, from 341 people to 245 people. There are no additional Probable Cases, they remain 96 people. There was a decrease of 16 Patients Under Treatment, from 1,248 people to 1,232 people. There were additional 4 deaths, namely in Palangka Raya (1 person), East Kotawaringin (2 people), and West Kotawaringin (1 person), bringing a total of 614 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 2.7%.
