PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force team again delivered a press release on the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Central Kalimantan, Thursday (28/10/2021) until 15.00 p.m.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team, as well as the Central Covid-19 Handling Task Force, said that the government prioritizes the elderly for Covid-19 vaccination because the elderly is a group that is very vulnerable to being exposed to Covid-19. Accelerating the Covid-19 vaccination is the key to reducing mortality in the elderly. Current efforts include providing vaccination centers with a capacity of 1000-2000 targets per day which are continuously being multiplied.

Currently, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage for the elderly group is still quite low, only about 7 million of the 21 million elderly who are targeted have been given the vaccine. “Let’s contribute to the acceleration of the Covid-19 vaccination. It could be by being more proactive in encouraging the elderly to be vaccinated or by constantly educating and socializing the benefits of vaccines to the elderly,” the Task Force Team urged.

Furthermore, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team appealed that in addition to vaccination, the implementation of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 4M principles: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds.

The number of accumulated data on positive confirmed Covid-19 patients in Central Kalimantan has increased by 8 people, with a total of 46577 cases. The addition of patients declared healed as many as 12 people, with the total cases reaching 44929 people and there were no additions for death, so the total remained 1578 deaths.

He also conveyed the progress of the Covid-19 data that has been accumulated, as follows: Confirmation Cases have added by 8 people, namely in Palangka Raya (3 people), Sukamara (3 people), Gunung Mas (1 person), and East Barito (1 person), from 46569 people to 46577 people.

There was an additional of 12 people recovered, namely in Palangka Raya (5 people), Kotawaringin Timur (2 people), and Sukamara (5 people), from 44917 people to 44929 people. There was a decrease of 4 people under treatment, from 74 people to 70 people. There were no additional cases of death, so there were still 1578 people, with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 3.4%.

For Bed Utilization in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds had a decrease in Bed Usage (2.2%), from 6.7% to 4.4%, in which no Regency/Municipality had a BOR above 50%. Meanwhile, Isolated Beds got an increase in Used Beds (1.4%), from 3.0% to 4.4%, in which no Regency/City had a BOR above 50%.

For the achievement of the vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Phase I vaccination was 976,801 or 47.97% and Phase II was 561,971 or 27.60%. Meanwhile, for the achievement of vaccination for teachers and education personnel, Senior High Schools (SMA), and equivalent Vocational Schools (SMK), the realization of PNS/GTT/PTT Vaccination was 5,791 or 77.73%, Dose I for SMA/SMK was 67,524 or 71.33%, and Dose II for SMA / SMK as many as 25,118 or 26.53%.
