PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran joined a video conference of Covid-19 vaccination participants with President Joko Widodo from Barigas, Central Kalimantan Police Headquarters, Palangka Raya on Thursday (17/2/2022).

The mass vaccination of the first, second, and booster injections which were carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia was initiated by the Indonesian National Police.

When delivering his directions, the President expressed his appreciation for the implementation of simultaneous vaccinations as an effort to accelerate vaccination amidst the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the implementation of the vaccination this morning. This is very important because cases are currently on the rise, so it is necessary to accelerate vaccination, especially for the elderly and children,” said the President.

President Joko Widodo emphasized that the key to control the Omicron variant of Covid-19 is the acceleration of vaccination and the importance of health protocols.

“The first is vaccination, the accelaration of vaccination, whether it is a second injection vaccination or a booster injection. Second, again to disseminate the importance of health protocols to the public, especially the importance of wearing masks,” explained the President.

After joining the video conference with President Joko Widodo, while delivering a press statement, Governor Sugianto Sabran revealed that he would immediately coordinate with the regency/municipality governments to accelerate the implementation of vaccinations in Central Kalimantan according to the President’s directions.

“We are following the directions from the President which are to accelerate vaccinations for the elderly and children. We have to speed this up. We will coordinate with the regency/municipality for the implementation,” explained the Governor.

Also present accompanying the Governor Sugianto Sabran at the event were the Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nanang Avianto, Regional Commander of 102/Pjg Brigadier General Yudianto Putrajaya, Chief of High Prosecutor Iman Wijaya, Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin, Head of the Health Service Suyuti Syamsul, Head of the Disaster Management and Fire Department Fallery Tuwan, as well as Acting Head of Executive Administration Bureau Johni Sonder.
