Governor Urges All Parties to Strengthen Commitment in Optimizing Central Kalimantan’s Locally-Generated Revenue

Governor Agustiar Sabran delivered his directives in a Coordination Meeting with Heads of Regionally-Owned Company, Business Associations, President Directors of Mining, Plantation, and Forestry Companies, and Leaders of Motor Vehicle Fuel Taxpayer Companies at the Eka Hapakat Hall, 3rd Floor of the Governor’s Office, on Thursday (12/6/2025).
PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor Agustiar Sabran and Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo are committed to optimizing regional revenue by attending a coordination meeting with the Heads of Regionally-Owned Company, Business Associations, CEO’s of Mining, Plantation, Forestry Companies, and Heads of Motor Fuel Taxable Companies.

“This meeting is more than just coordination, it represents our shared commitment to strengthening regional fiscal independence by optimizing PAD,” the governor said in his remarks at the Eka Hapakat Hall, on Thursday (12/6/2025).
The governor emphasized the commitment of business actors in Central Kalimantan to supporting regional government policies aimed at local revenue.
The governor asked for a commitment from business actors to pay taxes compliantly, conducting financial transactions through local banks – specifically the Central Kalimantan Regional Development Bank (Bank Kalteng), registering operational vehicles, including heavy equipment, with Central Kalimantan license plates, allocating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds that benefits the community, prioritizing the recruitment local residents as employees, and purchasing fuel within Central Kalimantan to ensure payment of the motor vehicle fuel tax.
“There is still significant potential, especially in the mining, plantation, and forestry sectors through Heavy Equipment Tax, Surface Water Tax, Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax, and Non-Metallic and Rock tax,” he said.
According to the Sampit-born Governor, the higher the PAD, the more development will be carried out, starting from infrastructure, education, health, and other sectors, to social welfare programs.
Although there is an increase in the PAD realization in 2024, its contribution to total regional revenue is still not optimal.
There is still significant untapped potential. The Governor provided several examples, such as unregistered heavy equipment, unrecorded surface water users, inaccurate surface water volume measurement, the circulation of illegal motor vehicle fuel not purchased from registered taxpayers, and operational company vehicles still using out-of-region license plates — all of which contribute to lost regional revenue potential.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo conveyed his and the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that all residents of Central Kalimantan – including those in remote areas – have fair and equal access to development. “Let’s use this shared momentum to contribute positively to strengthening PAD,” he said.
