PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Governor’s Expert Staff for Economy, Finance, and Development Yuas Elko, representing the Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran, attended virtually the 20th Anniversary of the National Narcotics Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI), taking place at the Central Kalimantan Narcotics Board (BNNP) Office, Palangka Raya on Tuesday (22/3/2022).

Being present to accompany the Governor’s Expert Staff were the Head of the Central Kalimantan Narcotics Board Brigadier General Sumirat Dwiyanto and his staff, the representatives of the Central Kalimantan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and other related institutions/agencies.

The commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of BNN RI was held in a hybrid manner at the GOR of the BNN Rehabilitation Center, Cigombong, Bogor, West Java. The theme for this year’s BNN anniversary is “20 Years of Serving Towards Shining Indonesia (Free from Drugs)”.

On this occasion, Head of BNN Petrus Reinhard Golose who was present at the GOR of the BNN Rehabilitation Center, Cigombong, delivered his remarks. “I made the jargon “War on Drugs” of course with the concept as a soft power approach. We do that through prevention, empowerment, and rehabilitation. The main key to our rehabilitation is community-based involvement,” said Head of BNN Petrus Reinhard Golose.

Furthermore, the Head of BNN also explained that BNN as one of the institutions engaged in law enforcement also needs to carry out a hard power approach, namely measurable law enforcement activities.

In addition, in entering the era of information technology and digital transformation, the Head of BNN also emphasized the need for development in the field of technology. “Next is smart power. Currently we have entered a period of digitization, digital transformation, so we develop for information technology development and analysis, and then I appoint experts who are mostly young people because the modern investigation system uses digitalization technology,” he explained.

On this occasion, the Head of BNN Petrus Reinhard Golose also invited all elements to support the implementation of the prevention and eradication of narcotics abuse.

“In celebrating the anniversary of BNN RI, let’s use it as a momentum to invite all Indonesian people together with BNN RI to continue to carry out the Prevention of Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN). In addition, it is also a motivation for every BNN employees about the identity of BNN RI, which is very much needed by the nation in P4GN’s efforts towards 2045 Golden Indonesia which is Shining and Narcotics-Free,” concluded the Head of BNN.

The winners of competition from various activities in the series of BNN RI Anniversary were also announced at the event which took place from Cigombong. One of the winners was BNN Palangka Raya which won the 1st Place in the Pantun Category.

After a series of virtual events from the BNN RI, the Central Kalimantan BNN also held a simple celebration to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of BNN RI. As a simple celebration,  the rice cone (tumpeng) was cut by the Head of the Central Kalimantan BNN Brigadier General Sumirat Dwiyanto, accompanied by the Governor’s Expert Staff for Economy, Finance, and Development Yuas Elko.
