Acting Provincial Secretary Leonard S. Ampung attended the “Huma Betang Dialogue for Young Generation” at the Eka Hapakat Hall, 3rd Floor of the Governor’s Office on Wednesday (18/6/2025).

The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government reaffirm its commitment for fostering resilient and competitive youth through the “Huma Betang Dialogue for Young Generation”. Acting Provincial Secretary Leonard S. Ampung officially opened the event at Eka Hapakat Hall on June 18, 2025.

Initiated by the Central Kalimantan Provincial Unity and Politics Agency (Badan Kesatuan Bangsa dan Politik/Kesbangpol), the program serves as a preventive measure against social and ideological threats including radicalism, terrorism, drug abuse, online gambling (Judol), illegal digital loans (Pinjol), and pornographic content.

Head of the Kesbangpol Katma F. Dirun reported that 100 local high school students joined the forum, with officials from the Regional Police, Detachment 88 Anti-Terror Task Force (Densus 88), and National Narcotics Agency (BNN) participating in the discussions.

“This program lays the foundation to develop morally, spiritually, and intellectually resilient youth, aligning with the governor’s vision to cultivate a golden generation that upholds the local wisdom of ‘Belom Bahadat’ (Living Civilized). It prepares them to face future challenges in achieving Golden Indonesia 2045,” Katma said.

Secretary Leonard warned that technology’s benefits come with risks, noting that while it facilitates progress, improper use could damage users’ psychological well-being and moral development.

“To resist online gambling, illegal loans, pornography, and narcotics, young people must build resilience through self-awareness, strong personal values, and opening communication with parents and educators,” he said.

He also warned of the dangers of radicalism spreading through social media.

“Always question and verify information—don’t stay silent. Consult trusted sources like educators, parents, or community elders. Don’t let harmful ideologies corrupt our society.”

Concluding his speech, Secretary Leonard called for reviving the spirit of Huma Betang, embodying the communal unity, cooperation, and tolerance. He stressed that youth must take the lead in fostering social harmony and navigating global uncertainties. He encouraged young people to voice their aspirations and share their inspirations, which will strengthen the future human capital and workforce.
