PANGKALAN BUN- PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Palangkaraya Mayor Fairid Naparin was confirmed Positive for Covid-19 (Corona Virus) based on the results of the second swab examination received on Monday (4/27/2020) yesterday afternoon.

Responding to this shocking news, Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran expressed his deep concern and asked Mayor Fairid Naparin to be strong during the period of isolation and treatment. “I said, Mr. Mayor, please Mr. Mayor be strong. I told people of Central Kalimantan that when we enter the hospital there are two (possibility), if we are not healthy, we die. So, don’t underestimate Covid-19,” said the Governor in between his activities in West Kotawaringin Regency, Tuesday (4/28/2020).

Governor Sugianto also hopes that there will be no more confirmed Positive for Covid-19, so that public is asked to always follow government’s recommendations to avoid this dangerous disease. “This is the last. This disease is very dangerous. Ladies and gentlemen, if you are confirmed positive, you are getting down and people get panicked. Those who are confirmed positive being isolated for 14 days in the hospital to be treated and it is not easy. Therefore, we pray for Mayor to get healthy soon,” he added.

The Governor further explained that the tasks of Palangka Raya Mayor would be temporarily replaced by an acting person, including the signing of documents deemed urgent to be signed.

In order to give a deeper understanding of Covid-19 dangers, Governor also asked the Mayor to convey to the public his current condition. “Mr. Mayor will directly convey his condition to the public, Mr. Mayor was affected, so the public know that highly official was confirmed positive, so people will be more aware,” concluded the Governor.
