PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Provincial Secretary Nuryakin attended the Dissemination of Peat Ecosystem Recovery in Central Kalimantan 2022 virtually via video conference from Bajakah Room 2, Governor’s Office, Palangka Raya on Thursday (12/5/2022).

The dissemination organized by the Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRGM RI) was officially opened by the Deputy for Education and Dissemination, Participation and Partnership (ESPK) BRGM RI Myrna A. Safitri.

The dissemination was held in order to gain commitment from all stakeholders to jointly support the success of the peat restoration program in Central Kalimantan Province.

“Meetings like this, the dialogues that take place between us are important because they will become a medium for us to jointly formulate our common goals in the restoration of the KHGs (Peat Hydrological Areas),” said Deputy Myrna A. Safitri when delivering her speech.

On that occasion, the Deputy also appreciated the strong commitment of the Provincial and regency/municipality governments as well as stakeholders in Central Kalimantan. “We see the sincerity, seriousness, and strong commitment of the regional governments to work together, we are hand in hand to make efforts to restore the peat ecosystem through restoration activities,” she said.

“We have also seen the support from various parties in Central Kalimantan is enormous, from representatives of universities, non-governmental organizations, as well as business actors, and no less important is the commitment and direct involvement of the community,” added the Deputy.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Secretary, Nuryakin, in his speech as the Coordinator of the Central Kalimantan Regional Peat Restoration Team (TRGD) emphasized the importance of cooperation, support and synergy of all stakeholders for the success of efforts to restore the peat ecosystem.

“For the success of the Peatland Restoration program, it requires the support of all parties; the Central Government, Provincial and Regency/Municipality Governments, the community, business actors, academics, and NGOs,” said the Central Kalimantan Secretary, Nuryakin.

The Secretary of Central Kalimantan also expressed his appreciation and full support for the various Peat Restoration programs carried out by BRGM RI, such as the Rewetting, Revegetation, and Economic Revitalization programs, and the Peat-Care Independent Villages.

“It is hoped that the output achieved is the restoration of the environment in Central Kalimantan and the welfare of its people,” concluded the Provincial Secretary of Central Kalimantan, Nuryakin. (set/ben/transl.feb)
