PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran today is monitoring by air using a helicopter to see the condition of regions, especially remote areas of the village that are difficult to reach from land.

The air monitoring was carried out to see the Corona Virus pandemic situation (Covid-19) in regions, in addition to evaluating the assistance program for the community, both privately running and later from the Provincial and Central Governments.

Governor Sugianto along with a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission III from Central Kalimantan Electoral Region H. Agustiar Sabran flew from Pangkalan Bun, West Kotawaringin, then monitored in Seruyan and East Kotawaringin, before landing in Palangka Raya, Wednesday (4/29/2020).

“We see the village from the air. There are areas that are difficult to access by land or by car to get to the residents. There must use a boat because access to the resident area can not be reached by land. This is our evaluation in the distribution of aid or working visit to see development in remote areas,” Governor Sugianto said.

He also said, from the air monitoring activities were seen in the river areas in Sampit, Seruyan, Pangkalan Bun, to Katingan, and activities in the Kahayan River.

“We continue to make every effort to be able to provide food and Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) by reaching out to remote villages for the community. From the air, we can see from above the area and activities of the river and the mining or plantation business. Our experience when monitoring the mining sector in the Barito and Sampit watersheds, we see a lot of activity but little royalty. After we were firm and supervised the taxes and royalties, apparently the results for Central Kalimantan were high and numerous. The proof, in the 2017-2019 period, it could reach IDR 2 trillion, where when we took office in 2016, it only reached an average of under IDR 800 billion. That is our commitment to improve Central Kalimantan’s Regional Income so that it can continue to rise,” explained Governor Sugianto.

Meanwhile, Agustiar Sabran, who during the monitoring also held a meeting via video conference with Commission III and the Corruption Eradication Commission, encouraged law enforcement officials to be able to monitor and supervise the handling of social assistance to conditions in various areas related to handling the impact of Covid-19.

“As a partner to the Prosecutor’s Office, the Police, and the Corruption Eradication Commission, we encourage to increase supervision and monitoring of the handling of social impacts and social assistance in various regions,” he explained.

Agustiar said, the steps taken by Governor Sugianto who went into the field to provide assistance both personally and on behalf of the Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan, continued to be encouraged and supported so we can help people in need in the midst of difficult situations due to Covid-19.

“When conducting air monitoring, we saw a population area on the edge of the river and some were difficult to enter by car. It will become an evaluation for the distribution of aid later. We also propose that the Governor can go straight to the field again to see villages in other corners, such as in Kapuas, Pulang Pisau and Barito areas,” Agustiar said.

Meanwhile, as released by Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force today, Wednesday (4/29/2020), the number of Positive for Covid-19 cases in Bumi Tambun Bungai has reached 128 cases or increased by 7 cases compared to the previous day. While the number of positive patients who are still being treated reaches 110 people, recovered 12 people, and died 6 people.

The number of people under investigation (ODP) in Central Kalimantan currently reaches 372 people or an increase of 26 people from the previous day with the largest number found in the city of Palangka Raya, which is 99 people. The number of people with close contact without symptoms (OTG) reached 1,116 people with the highest number in Murung Raya Regency, namely 266 people. While the number of Patients under Investigation (PDP) reached 76 people with the most PDP being treated at Doris Silvanus Regional Hospital Palangka Raya, namely 37 people.

Governor Sugianto Sabran always reminded the public to follow the government’s advice in breaking the chain of Covid-19 spread. People are asked to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle, wear masks especially when leaving house, wash hands as often as possible with soap in running water, do social / physical distancing, do not leave house or area and do not go home when there is no urgent need.
