PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team of Central Kalimantan delivered a press release on the progress of handling Covid-19 on Friday (13/8/2021). The Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team of Central Kalimantan just like the Covid-19 Task Force said, “After being vaccinated, we must wear masks and be disciplined in complying with health protocols in accordance with ongoing appeals and policies.”

It has to be done because the optimal protection from the vaccine is only established 2 weeks after the second dose of vaccination. The Covid-19 vaccine has been shown to reduce the risk of severe symptoms to death, but does not 100% prevent a person from transmitting it.

“If we have received the vaccine and are infected, generally we will experience mild or no symptoms, but we can still infect other people without realizing it. Vaccination is one way to protect our bodies from Covid-19. Together with health protocols, it is a powerful way to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. Vaccines are safe and proven to protect us, so let’s get vaccinated,” urged the Task Force Team.

The Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team of Central Kalimantan appealed that in addition to vaccination, the application of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 4M principles: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds.

The number of accumulated data on Covid-19 until today, Friday (13/8/2021): the confirmation of positive cases in Central Kalimantan increased by 469 people, with a total of 39221 cases. The addition of patients who were declared recovered was 605 people, with a total of 34383 cases. And, 15 patients were declared dead, bringing the total to 1333, with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 3.4%.

On the press release, the data on Covid-19 was again conveyed: as many as 13 regencies and 1 municipality had been affected. Confirmation cases have added by 469 people: in Palangka Raya (86 people), Katingan (55 people), East Kotawaringin (45 people), West Kotawaringin (19 people), Lamandau (1 person), Sukamara (4 people), Seruyan (2 people), Pulang Pisau (13 people), Kapuas (92 people), Gunung Mas (30 people), South Barito (48 people), East Barito (63 people), North Barito (10 people), and Murung Raya (1 person), from 38752 people to 39221 people. There were 605 people recovered: in Palangka Raya (41 people), Katingan (31 people), East Kotawaringin (37 people), West Kotawaringin (300 people), Lamandau (7 people), Sukamara (12 people), Seruyan (4 people), Pulang Pisau (9 people), Kapuas (42 people), Gunung Mas (7 people), East Barito (50 people), and Murung Raya (65 people), from 33778 people to 34383 people. There was a decrease by 151 people under treatment, from 3656 people to 3505 people.

Furthermore, for Bed Utilization in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds had an increase in Bed Utilization (5.1%), from 69.2% to 74.4%, of which there were 4 Regencies/Municipality with BOR above 50%, namely Palangka Raya, East Kotawaringin, Murung Raya, and West Kotawaringin, while Insulation Beds had an increase in Used Beds (0.2%), from 45.0% to 45.2%, there were 4 regencies/municipality with BOR above 50%, namely Kapuas, South Barito, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya. The achievement of vaccination target was 2,036,104, the realization of Phase I vaccination was 462,094 or 22.70% and Phase II was 294,659 or 14.47%.

The Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team of Central Kalimantan reminded all people to continue to comply with health protocols to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. It is mandatory for 4M: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds so this Covid-19 will soon end in Central Kalimantan and all over the world,” said the Task Force Team.
