PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a Press Release regarding the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Central Kalimantan on Wednesday (09/02/2022) until 15.00 p.m.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team conveyed an appeal that in addition to vaccination, the compliance of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 5M principles (wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleansing hands with sanitizer, keeping distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds).

5M healthy behavior is a very important prevention effort. The Covid-19 prevention strategy by the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force for Behavior Change is focused on increasing 5M compliance. Everyone must be willing and able to make changes to 5M compliance behavior, so as to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

According to Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 07 of 2022 dated January 31, 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and Sub-District Level to Control the Transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in Sumatra Region , Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/municipality in Central Kalimantan Province, there are two criteria, namely Level 1 and Level 2 (valid until February 14, 2022). The regencies/municipality with these criteria include: Level 1 consists of West Kotawaringin, South Barito, North Barito, Katingan, Sukamara, Pulang Pisau, and East Barito; and Level 2 consists of East Kotawaringin, Kapuas, Seruyan, Lamandau, Gunung Mas, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team conveyed that the number of accumulated data on positive confirmed Covid-19 patients in Central Kalimantan had increased by 122 people, bringing the total to 47217 people. There were 13 patients under treatment bringing the total to 45189 people. And, there was no death, so the total remained 1594 people.

There were 13 people recovered, namely 4 people in Palangka Raya, 4 people in East Kotawaringin, 1 person in Lamandau, 2 people in Seruyan, and 2 people in Kapuas, so from 45176 people to 45189 people. There were 109 people under treatment, so from 325 people to 434 people. There were no cases of death, so there were still 1594 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.4%.

For Bed Occupancy in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds got a decrease in Bed Occupancy (1.31%), so from 24.39% to 23.08%, in which no Regencies/Municipality had BOR above 50% , while Insulation Beds got an increase in Bed Occupancy (2.94%), from 5.77% to 8.71%, in which no Regencies/Municipality had BOR above 50%. For the achievement of the vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 89.72%. All Regencies/Municipality have achieved above 70% of Dose I Vaccination. (din/transl.feb).
