PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a press release on the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic on Sunday (13/2/2022). The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team, as well as the Central Covid-19 Task Force, said that the Covid-19 vaccination for children had started on June 30, 2021 for ages 12-17 with Sinovac or Pfizer vaccine and since December 14, 2021 for ages 6- 11 years with Sinovac vaccine. Vaccinations are carried out at health centers, hospitals, service posts for school vaccination, or Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA). “No special preparation needed for vaccination, but the most important is to make sure the children are in good health, having enough sleep for 8-10 hours, and having breakfast. If children have comorbidities, make sure to bring their medicine before having vaccination,” the Task Force Team urged.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team also appealed that in addition to vaccination, the compliance of health protocols as a living habit is a demand in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic. Some people have complied with health protocols, but there are still others who lack the awareness to apply the 4M principles (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and avoiding crowds).

The number of accumulated data as of today, Sunday (2/13/2022): positive confirmed COVID-19 patients in Central Kalimantan increased by 261 people, bringing the total to 48042 people. There were 14 patients recovered, bringing the total to 45234 people. And, there was no death case, so the total remained 1595 people.

Confirmation cases increased by 261 people, namely in Palangka Raya (130 people), Katingan (13 people), East Kotawaringin (12 people), West Kotawaringin (18 people), Lamandau (1 person), Seruyan (4 people), Pulang Pisau (9 people), Kapuas (53 people), Gunung Mas (14 people) , South Barito (2 people), East Barito (4 people), and North Barito (1 person), so from 47781 people to 48042 people. There were 14 people recovered, namely in West Kotawaringin (3 people), Lamandau (3 people), Seruyan (1 person), Pulang Pisau (1 person), Kapuas (3 people), and Murung Raya (3 people), so from 45220 people to 45234 people. There were 247 patients under treatment, so from 966 people to 1213 people. There were no additional cases of death, so there were still 1595 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.3%.

Furthermore, for Bed Occupancy in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds did not change in Bed Occupancy (0.00%), so it remained 28.95%, in which no regency/municipality had BOR above 50%, Meanwhile, Isolated Beds increased in Bed Occupancy (0.40%), so that from 14.86% to 15.25%, in which no regency/municipality had a BOR above 50%. To achieve the vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 90.55%. All regencies/municipality have achieved above 70% of Dose I Vaccination.

According to Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 07 of 2022 dated January 31, 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and Sub-District Level to Control the Transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the region of Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/city in Central Kalimantan Province, there are two criteria, namely Level 1 and Level 2 (valid until February 14, 2022). The regencies/city with these criteria include: Level 1 consisted of West Kotawaringin, South Barito, North Barito, Katingan, Sukamara, Pulang Pisau, and East Barito; and Level 2 consisted of East Kotawaringin, Kapuas, Seruyan, Lamandau, Gunung Mas, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team reminded all Central Kalimantan people to continue to comply with health protocols and to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. “For those who are not aware of the health protocols, remember! 5M is mandatory, wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleansing hands with sanitizer, keeping distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds; doing 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment); and immediately get vaccinated so that more people are protected and Covid-19 will soon pass in Central Kalimantan and all over the world,” said the Task Force Team.
