Reviewing Food Estate Location Infrastructure, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing is Welcomed by Governor Sugianto Sabran
PALANGKA RAYA – PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran welcomed the arrival of Public Works and Public Housing Minister Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeljono, Saturday morning (06/13/2020) at Tjilik Riwut Airport in Palangka Raya.
The visit of Minister is related to infrastructure review activities in Central Kalimantan, whether road infrastructure, irrigation, spatial planning which are closely related to the development of Food Estate area in Pulang Pisau Regency and Kapuas Regency.
Paddy and agricultural land development programs cover a total of 164,000 hectares, spread across a number of regencies. “The fields that have been opened and are currently being worked on are 85,000 hectares. The remaining are 79,000 hectares, this is what I want to check. In order to succeed, be focused on it first,” said Basoeki.
Basoeki further said that the selected land was not peatland, therefore only a few areas were selected. Because if you get peatland, there must need a special technology to work on it. “Hopefully, with the inclusion of improved processing and irrigation technology, IP (Planting Index) can rise, which is usually only one time planting, and hopefully it can be planted twice,” he concluded.
