Covid-19 Task Force Disseminated Steps to Wear Mask Properly

PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Public Communications Team of Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force delivered a Press Release regarding the progress in handling Covid-19 in Central Kalimantan, Monday (14/2/2022) until 15.00 p.m.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team, as well as the Central Covid-19 Task Force said that wearing masks properly and having it as a habit are the compliance with health protocols. Then, how to wear mask properly? Follow these steps:

  • Wash hands before wearing a mask, we may wash hands with soap in running water or use alcohol-based antiseptic liquid.
  • Ensure that the nose, mouth, and chin are completely covered, the colored part is in front, and the white part is against the face.
  • Press the top of the mask with the wire to fit the shape of the nose.

Next, how to take out and dispose the mask properly? Follow these steps:

  • Change the mask if it is damaged, dirty, or wet.
  • Unfasten the mask from the ears or the ties of the mask, making sure not to touch the front of the mask.
  • Dispose the mask properly into the trash.
  • Wash hands with soap or alcohol-based liquid properly.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team also conveyed the accumulated data up to Monday, February 14, 2022, at 15.00 p.m., as follows: Confirmation cases increased by 155 people, namely in Palangka Raya (73 people), Katingan (14 people), East Kotawaringin (54 people), West Kotawaringin (4 people), Seruyan (3 people), Pulang Pisau (3 people), Kapuas (46 people), Gunung Mas (1 person), South Barito (3 people), East Barito (1 person), and North Barito (2 people), so from 48,042 people to 48,197 people .

Meanwhile, there were 62 patients recovered namely in Palangka Raya (33 people), Katingan (3 people), East Kotawaringin (13 people), West Kotawaringin (5 people), Kapuas (2 people), South Barito (1 person), and East Barito (5 people), so from 45,234 people to 45,296 people. There were 93 patients under treatment, so from 1,213 people to 1,306 people. There were no death cases, so there were still 1,595 people, with a mortality rate (CFR) of 3.3%.

For Bed Occupancy in Hospitals (BOR), Intensive Beds increased in Bed Occupancy (3.55%), so that from 28.95% to 32.50%, where there were 2 regencies/municipality with BOR above 50%, namely East Kotawaringin Regency and Palangka Raya Municipality. Meanwhile, Isolated Beds increased in Bed Occupancy (3.35%), so that from 15.25% to 18.60%, in which no regencies/municipality had BOR above 50%.

For the achievement of vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 90.63%. All regencies/municipality have achieved above 70% of Dose I Vaccination.

According to Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 07 of 2022 dated January 31, 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and Optimizing the Command Post for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 at the Village and Sub-District Level to Control the Transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the region of Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, for regencies/municipality in Central Kalimantan Province, there are two criteria, namely Level 1 and Level 2 (valid until February 14, 2022). The regencies/municipality with these criteria include: Level 1 consisted of West Kotawaringin, South Barito, North Barito, Katingan, Sukamara, Pulang Pisau, and East Barito; and Level 2 consisted of East Kotawaringin, Kapuas, Seruyan, Lamandau, Gunung Mas, Murung Raya, and Palangka Raya.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team continues to remind all Central Kalimantan people to continue to comply with health protocols and break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. “Remember! 5M is mandatory (wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleansing hands with sanitizer, keeping distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds; doing 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment); and immediately get vaccinated so that more people are protected and Covid-19 will soon pass in Central Kalimantan and all over the world,” said the Task Force Team.
