The Public Communications Team of the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force, referred to the Central Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Friday (21/1/2022), saying that cases of the Omicron variant spread quickly, but the symptoms are quite mild, so patients can recover without having to be hospitalized.

“Even so, don’t be ignorant. The pandemic is not over, we’re still struggling. The best way to respond to the increase in cases of the Omicron variant is to follow health protocols, be disciplined, and immediately get a vaccine,” the Task Force Team urged in a press release today.

The Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force Team also appealed to always carry out 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment), in addition to vaccination and 5M health protocols (wearing masks, washing hands with soap or cleaning hands with sanitizer, keeping distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds).

Furthermore, the Central Kalimantan Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team conveyed the progress of the Covid-19 data collected on January 21, 2022 until 03.00 p.m., where there were no additional Confirmation Cases, so there were still 46733 people.

There were no additional recovered patients, so there were still 45141 people. There were no patients under treatment, so it remained 2 people. And, there were no additional cases of death, so there were still 1590 people, with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 3.4%.

Regarding Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), Intensive Beds experienced an increase in Bed Occupancy (9.52%), so that from 2.38% to 11.90%, where there were no districts/municipality with BOR above 50%. Meanwhile, Isolated Beds experienced an increase in Bed Occupancy (0.52%), so that from 0.52% to 1.04%, there were no districts/municipality with BOR above 50%.

Regarding the achievement of the vaccination target of 2,036,104, the realization of Dose I Vaccination for Central Kalimantan Province has reached 84.36%. All Regencies/Municipality have achieved more than 70% of Dose I Vaccination. Meanwhile, regarding the achievement of vaccination target for teachers and education personnel, high schools (SMA), and equivalent vocational schools (SMK), the realization of PNS/GTT/PTT Vaccination has not increased so that it remains at 6,258 or 79.01 %. There was no addition of Dose I for SMA/SMK, so it remained at 73,202 or 76.95%, and there was no addition of Dose II for SMA/SMK so it remained at 32,403 or 34.06%. (ran/transl.by feb)
