PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan Edy Pratowo together with the participants of Regular Education Program (PPRA) Batch LXIII of National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) on National Strategic Issues Field Study (SLISN) visited the location for the development of Vaname Shrimp Cultivation (Shrimp Estate) in Sungai Pasir Village, Pantai Lunci District , Sukamara Regency, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Also participating in the review were the lecturer in Geography at Lemhannas Major General Hayunadi Tajar, Sukamara Regent Windu Subagio, Governor’s Expert Staff for Government, Law, and Politics Herson B. Aden, and the Head of related regional government institutions. During this review, the Vaname Shrimp harvest was also carried out.

“Today I am accompanying the colleagues from Lemhannas during their field study to the Shrimp Estate location in Sukamara Regency,” said the Central Kalimantan Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo in an interview session on the sidelines of the review activity.

Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo also explained that the Shrimp Estate program is to support the Food Estate program in Central Kalimantan which was launched by the central government. “With the Food Estate program, we try to include local content through the Vaname Shrimp Estate activities in Sukamara Regency,” explained the Deputy Governor.

The Deputy Governor then said, as directed by Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran, the Vaname Shrimp Estate would be used as a flagship program. For this reason, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government has prepared a budget for the construction of this Vaname Shrimp cultivation pond, with a target of 90 ponds by 2022.

“This is also expected to encourage farmers or entrepreneurs here. Fishermen are expected to be able to develop vaname shrimp on a large scale. So, in the future, this area will not only be a shrimp estate for vaname shrimp, but will also be integrated later with ecotourism,” said Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo.

The Deputy Governor also expressed his appreciation to Lemhannas for choosing Central Kalimantan for the Field Study on National Strategic Issues with the theme “Regional Government Excellence Programs in Supporting National Development”. “Thank you Lemhannas for being here too. This is a spirit, enthusiasm, for the Provincial Government (Central Kalimantan),” said Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the lecturer in National Resilience Institute, Maj. Gen. TNI Hayunadi Tajar, explained the purpose of the visit of the SLISN Team. “Thank you, Deputy Governor. Our arrival in Sukamara is a program from Lemhannas to help the Regional Government about what they want to excel in,” he explained.

It was also revealed by Major General TNI Hayunadi Tajar, that through this field study, it is hoped that it can identify various potentials as well as obstacles or problems that will be faced in the future, so that they can provide support and input so that the Government’s flagship programs can run optimally.

“We hope that we can also provide input to the Government about what kind of programs can be encouraged to multiply what has been announced by the Government, so that the people’s money that has been disbursed is not just carrying out projects, but hopefully it can provide a domino effect,” he concluded.
