Sugianto Sabran participated in the Coordination Meeting for the 2021 Government Work Plan with the Ministry of National Development Planning / National Development Planning Agency together with all Indonesian governors at the Office of the Ministry of National Development Planning, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/3/2020).

This coordination meeting is a follow-up to the implementation of the kick-off for the preparation of the 2021 Government Work Plan. It takes the theme “Strengthening the Central-Regional Synergy in Implementing the Major Project of TPJMN 2020-2024”, the Coordination Meeting will last until Wednesday (4/3/2020) tomorrow.

Governor Sugianto Sabran, in his presentation conveyed a number of proposals from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government to the Central Government, including the infrastructure development of Sigintung port and Batanjung port, construction of a Type-A Hospital, road handling in Pulang Pisau area, and extension of Tjilik Riwut Airport runway to be a Hajj Embarkation as a whole. “In addition to conveying the infrastructure development in Central Kalimantan which has been carried out by the Provincial Government, he also proposed a number of development or projects to the Central Government, including the infrastructure ofthe Sigintung port and Batanjung port, Type-A Hospital, extension and / or expanding of the runway at Tjilik Riwut Airport,” said Governor Sugianto Sabran.

The Governor explained that Central Kalimantan Provincial Government’s priority proposal is related to the road access to the port, so it is hoped it can be handled in 2021, considering that Central Kalimantan Province, which covers an area of ​​1.5 times bigger than the island of Java, with abundant wealth, has so far not had a port that functions as an outlet to improve the regional economy. “Including the handling of the national road along the 165 kilometers from Sigintung Port to Kuala Pembuang to Simpang Bangkal, and the construction of the 52-kilometer long road to Batanjung Port, which still has no road access. This road is very strategic because it connects Batanjung Port and the national road of Trans Kalimantan,” he explained.

The governor also emphasized that the completion of the missing link of road section in the middle of Central Kalimantan to the border of West Kalimantan along the 80 kilometers also needs attention because it is considered very strategic regarding the security issues considering its location is close to the borders of Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as to open up the isolation of rural communities in Central Kalimantan and West Kalimantan. “In addition, there is also an extension of the runway at Tjilik Riwut Airport from a length of 2,500 meters to 3,000 meters, with a width of 45 meters, so it can accommodate wide-bodied aircrafts. This is to support the development of Tjilik Riwut Airport to become a Haj Embarkation as a whole and to support the export value investment. This includes the construction of Sebuai Airport, in which 2,500 hectares of land are reserved to support the Special Economic Zones, especially the down streaming of the palm oil industry in the western region of Central Kalimantan Province,” added Governor Sugianto.

Meanwhile, other development, according to the Governor, include the construction of Muara Joloi Dam for a Hydro Power Plant with a capacity of 284 MW is also very much needed for the community. The project is considered strategic to ensure the independence and the sustainable energy security. “Next, the proposed development of Doris Sylvanus Regional Hospital into Type A. Currently Doris Sylvanus Hospital is a Type B referral hospital for Central Kalimantan Province and so far many patients from Central Kalimantan have to be referred to hospitals outside Central Kalimantan, especially to Java Island.
