PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Central Kalimantan Governor H. Sugianto Sabran attended a virtual meeting with President Joko Widodo via video teleconference from Jayang Tingang Hall, Governor’s Office, Palangka Raya on Monday (7/2/2022).

The President, accompanied by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, delivered 2 directives in order to anticipate the Omicron variant.

In his directions, the President ordered the ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police to assist in accelerating vaccination in the Provinces and Regencies/Cities.

“The first is the acceleration of vaccination in all regions, so once again I order the Resort Police Chiefs (Kapolres), Division Commanders (Dandim), Regional Commanders (Danrem), Regional Police Chiefs (Kapolda), Commanders of Regional Military Command (Pangdam) to help accelerating vaccination,” said President Joko Widodo.

Furthermore, President Joko Widodo also emphasized that the Covid-19 Handling Task Force should be more active in reminding the public, especially in terms of wearing masks.

“Second, the existing Task Force should re-emphasize the importance of health protocols, especially masks,” said President Joko Widodo.

The President asked the Governors, Regents/Mayors, and local government officials to focus on accelerating vaccination and implementing health protocols.

“What I want to emphasize is just two things, acceleration of vaccinations and improvement of health protocols. We remind the public to keep wearing masks because it is the key to prevent the transmission,” he said.

Also present to accompany Governor at the event were the Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Nanang Avianto, Regional Commander 102/Pjg Brigadier General Yudianto Putrajaya, Acting Provincial Secretary Nuryakin, and the Heads of related regional government institutions.
